Still loving everything about this album. I finally gave the vinyl a spin this weekend, and I gotta say, I was kind of disappointed. It sounded fine, but for a deluxe version, the presentation felt pretty minimal outside of the o-card sleeve, which I thought was fairly lackluster. Say what you want about Erase Me, but the deluxe vinyl had really great packaging and a super cool insert booklet that I really enjoy. Very dumb and dorky of me to pick nits on that, but there you go. Album still slays.
Yeah the difference between the deluxe and the standard gatefold packaging is very minimal, and in my opinion, not worth it. I have a few variants of this album, but I kind of regret getting the deluxe.
I watched this a few nights ago, but I'm watching this again because it's really cool. Sharing for anyone interested.
If I remember correctly, when A Divine Eradication kicks in and they all seem to be blown away, especially Aaron who's bobbing his head... that part stuck with me. What a song.
Yeah, it's a bummer. I got the deluxe despite liking other variants more because the packaging sounded so cool, and then wound up being really disappointed with it. Oh well, not the end of the world.
I variant collect UO and this roll out has made me consider selling off some of my collection haha. Erase Me: 12 variants Voyeurist: 11 variants That combined with the two most recent boxsets is taking up a whole cube+ on my storage.
I gotta spend more time with this. I think it’s solid, but it isn’t really grabbing me like Disambiguation, LITSOS, and DTGL have. I realize nostalgia plays a part in it, but I feel like the quality of a lot of these songs do not match up as well to the quality of those aforementioned albums. I do like that they got a more heavy, atmospheric, and experimental this time around than I remember them doing on Erase Me, but this album just doesn’t hit me like those other ones. I think it takes a little time to get rolling. Thorn is the first song on here for here I’m like “Okay, I love this” and it really picks up from there. That song, Take a Breath, and Pneumonia are easily my early favorites. I feel like I should like this more, but I feel like it’s still a little too straightforward and downright cringey at times for my liking. There are some aspects of Damn Excuses, Hallelujah, and We’re All Gonna Die that I really like, but some of the lyrics and melodies on those songs absolutely do not work for me, while other songs on the album haven’t really grabbed me yet. I think it’s a solid album that doesn’t have a song that I fully dislike, but also doesn’t have many that I fully like either. I wanna spend more time with it, but this is how I feel after a few listens.
Numb really hit me yesterday. Listened 3x back to back at the gym. Didn't catch me as a single at all
This is really starting to grow on me. I don't know if there's a song on here I'd pick as an all time classic for me, but as a whole it's really working for me right now.
They did ones for TOCS, LITSOS, and Erase Me as well. They must have done one for DTGL, but it's not on youtube, unfortunately. Also, there are several occasions during the LITSOS stream that the audio is omitted due to copyright issues and it also cuts into their discussion between songs so I never made it fully through that one. If anyone is interested though, each video is 3-4 hours in length so there's a lot to sink your teeth into.
I know it was such a bummer to not see it uploaded, especially because the band uploaded the other four to the band's channel
Has anyone else not received an email for the rebroadcast? Edit: Nvm, should've checked their socials beforehand. 2 hours ago they responded to a comment stating they haven't been sent out yet haha
I redeemed a code for free access! Not sure where I qualified since I never purchased the new record. Just the 3 Observatory live streams and LITSOS on vinyl
