Yeah I really hope this gets put on streaming services/download demand. I bought a ticket but I'm traveling on Friday and busy Saturday. Hoping someone rips it at some point. Maybe I'll try and watch it on the drive.
Did either of you purchase the download with your ticket? It was $6 extra, and you get the download right when the album comes out in January. I can already tell I want the highest quality version of this, so I'm not going to mess with any sort of audio rip until I have the HQ version. If bands don't offer the add-on download option for livestreams, I usually try to rip the video/audio myself, but since they offered it here, I bought it to support them.
The Cyber Monday sale made getting the ticket + download the same price as getting just the ticket regular, and I kept forgetting to get a ticket so that worked out
Oh I didn't realize you couldn't rewatch it immediately or temporarily once it's over. It's very likely I'm going to miss the livestream as well.
I didn’t realize that the download wouldn’t be delivered til when the album releases. Makes sense but kind of sucks..
Oh and Cycle live is INSANE. If this is all Spencer and his vocals aren’t touched up at all? GOD DAMN DUDE!
I only heard the first two songs twice and chose not to listen to the others. I decided to listen to them a couple of times to be familiar with the stream Friday. These songs are really good. Wild that they are still putting out some of the best songs of their career. I love that we're getting this stream early. Perfect compromise to the record getting pushed back. Pneumonia will be wild to see performed. It must be awesome for them to play the entire record.
I’m gonna say Thorn, that one is a banger. Overall, judging by the live versions at least, this is still a very diverse album and I’m glad they didn’t totally abandon the new sounds in Erase Me… but this is a LOT more dynamic than that album and feels more “them”. Way heavier and more interesting song structures overall. I can’t wait to hear the recorded versions too.
might be too early to determine, but based solely on the live performances, where would you rank Voyeurist amongst the rest of their discography? keep hearing various members of the band call this their favorite album of theirs, so i wanna see if that translates
It’s definitely early haha… I usually just rank the Spencer albums with this band, and my top 3 is definitely the run of DTGL, LITSOS & Disambiguation (my order of those 3 has changed a few times but they’re definitely my top 3). Truthfully I don’t know if this would ever rival those 3 (based off the live versions anyway) but I’ve only listened a few times to the livestream so far, and UO’s best albums are some of my all-time favorites. I’ll definitely need some time with the actual album to determine where it stacks up. My initial impressions though are VERY strong, I can say that for sure. It feels like a return to form while still pushing their sound forward… pretty much everything I’d want from a new Underoath album personally. It is without a doubt above Erase Me haha that I’m pretty confident about.
I really feel that Erase Me was their "They're Only Chasing Safety 2" in that, they were trying on all the popular trends mixing them with their own core sound to challenge themselves and then moved forward with what worked to expand their core sound to make something new with their next record. tldr I'm stoked for this record
