I've only listened to Damn Excuses and Hallelujah, gonna try to leave it at that until release

  3. Just throwing an idea out there, I was wondering what a Will Putney produced Underoath album would sound like, don't mind me.

  4. Looks like there’s a new snippet on voyeurist.io. Having no access to decent speakers right now, I couldn’t tell whether that one was slowed down or intentionally sounded weird.

The masked bundle is cool but not sure if it's $250 cool, even if it's limited to /10

Regardless, not sure how I feel about hearing a full album live before hearing the actual thing.

On December 3rd, we will be presenting a special performance of Voyeurist in its entirety via the Digital Ghost cinematic concert, in partnership with Moment House. Since the album was delayed until Jan 14, 2022, we wanted to give you the opportunity to see and hear the new album performed live long before its release on January 14 and before our tour in February.

Digital Ghost offers you a chance to be part of a communal Moment built around Voyeurist in a way that nobody has experienced before. When we started conceptualizing the Digital Ghost event, we knew that we wanted to do something different than a traditional live stream. We did three of them and, coming back a year after Observatory, we knew we didn’t want to just repeat the cycle. Our goal is to lean into the idea of blending a narrative element into the audio and visuals. There are countless aspects that you can’t deploy when you’re doing everything fully live as we did in Observatory.

Threading the needle on a live performance but also adding in cinematic elements that pop up throughout was a big part of Digital Ghost. In the end, Digital Ghost is an attempt to push boundaries as a band and set a new bar for what virtual live experiences can be.

Tickets are available right NOW to purchase along with exclusive merch in honor of the live stream. While the concert will only be available to rewatch for 24 hours, purchasing a download bundle allows you to own it after January 14.

I just …… why not just release the album early? Youre releasing nearly half the thing in singles and now going to play it live a full month and a half before release? Just, put it out there.

  11. Idk it’s probably not up to them at this point

Their Observatory performances were the pinnacle of livestreamed shows in 2020 and this will surely follow suit. Seems like a cool way to experience the record for the first time

Album sale stats yo. I think they’re trying to give their fans the record while still retaining whatever numbers they can get for the official “drop”. I’m down with hearing the record live first. Especially if it’s the same quality (or higher) of the Observatory sessions!

My first album listen is usually a hypercritical, unfair one so I think it’ll actually be nice to have that first run through in a live yet controlled setting like this. Not as worried about this one as I was for Erase Me so it’s somewhat moot but things always sound heavier live.

I think this announcement puts the last nail in the coffin for disambiguation/erase me shows though. Wonder if it was a decision at some point to just not do it (and why) or if they just never got around to it.

I feel like it was the latter. They were busy writing/recording the new record and probably just wanted to focus on that. Still sucks though because I was realllllly hoping to see Disambiguation with Aaron live :(

this is my absolute dream combination. I think for the next album they should self produce again and have Will mix & master. Creatively these songs are so there but Will would make them sound soooooooo much better. His mix of the SYSC song featuring Aaron is the best Aaron's vocals have sounded in years imo.

  20. Definitely was not expecting this at all. I'm totally on board and can't wait to see what they've cooked up this time. Last year's livestreams were some of the most memorable I managed to catch.

On top of all this, it'll probably help to sway a bunch of fans unsure of whether they'll get it or not to go ahead with a pre-order, so if anything will likely boost sales if they deliver an experience that they've said they are.

The Devil Wears Prada did a stream before the release of their Zombie II EP, granted that was a few days before not a month, but I thought it was super cool hearing the songs for the first time as a live experience. I'm super down with this approach and I loved the Observatory streams (also still begging for a Disambiguation stream lol)

Just realized that despite this long roll out we haven’t gotten a single music video. Lame!

The preview sounds like totally uncharted territory for him.
