was supposed to be january then they sent the date out accidentally and since then ive been hearing march instead
Wow over a year later than the first one was supposed to come out. I wonder how many albums worth of stuff they are sitting on shelved.
yeah, I enjoyed this album quite a bit, especially when they did Digital Ghost. Didn't really care for Erase Me.
this place aint even that anti new underoath compared to other places honestly. at least you can admit voyeurist and digital ghost actually whip ass here
I've definitely found something to like in all of their post-reunion releases. Some songs have aged better than others, but Thorn randomly came on shuffle for me yesterday and scratched an itch I forgot I had.
I remain excited for the upcoming album. Regarding a January release date, I kinda saw the writing on the wall when I noticed they were still touring TOCS up until mid-December. Starting the rollout for your new album in the middle of an anniversary tour is a bit unusual, but I can wait until March.
I thought Erase Me was fine but it fell down pretty hard once this album got released. I’ve listened to the singles a few times. I can wait until the full album releases. We all know 2025 is just a bridge to get them to celebrating DTGL in 2026
Survivor’s Guilt has grown on me but I really hope there’s some more straight forward heavy songs on the new record. Digital Ghost did a perfect job mixing their older and newer sounds together. More of that please.
Honestly part of the issue for me is production. I know they’ve pushed themselves with working with Matt Squire and then doing Voyeurist on their own. I would love to hear them going back to Matt Golman and see what they could cook up with him
I agree with the production being an issue (look at Voyuerist and look at Digital Ghost) but man do the drums sound massive on these new tracks. It’s kind of my favorite part of Survivor’s Guilt and the only thing I like about Teeth.
It’s more conventional to release an album before or during a tour than after though, no? I mean, they’re playing at least one song from the album anyway, what better chance to buy it than at the tour where you don’t have to pay shipping and you can capitalize on impulse buys? The thought of seeing a band, *then* hearing a new record and knowing you won’t see em live or hear the rest of the songs for potentially 2-4 years feels like a bad idea. Idk, I really don’t like this long rollout, hearing 4 songs before the record comes out, and then add the previous 2 singles? That’s a *lot* or carrot dangling. On a similar note, we haven’t heard anything about recent set lists beyond the first few shows of the tour. Anybody know if there’s been even a single noteworthy surprise since then?
