Agree with this 100%. The song is dope, but it’s a an odd choice for a single and a live encore unless it’s explicitly a middle fingers up gotcha track. I think it’s going to rule as a song 7 in a new album.
Great show and crowd in MPLS last night. Fun/small moments of bringing youngest and oldest fans to sit on the couch that's high on the stage, the sound completely dying during the end of a in regards, and neat they were live-streaming the show to their families back who were evacuated from Tampa.
Psyched to hear it. Hope we get an announcement soon, Tim said in his story next year will be nuts. Hoping the album is out in January. This is definitely different than that tease song they posted. The production style on this one and teeth sounds a lot different. Still betting that one is a one off from the scrapped stuff.
I've seen a rumored tracklist and the song you're referring to, And Then There Was Nothing, is on there, along with Teeth and Survivor's Guilt. I'm not 100% sure of its authenticity so not gonna share (also to keep the surprise for when the band announces it) but I'm pretty confident that track is in fact on the album. We'll likely know the tracklist soon anyway.
https://youtube.com/shorts/oYRQtr6-gOw?si=VtYiN1k4pZq8EubI They really are abandoning their Voyuerist sound huh? Big bummer but still interested to hear this even if my hopes are starting to dwindle..
Haha dang, this whole new album direction is absolutely blowing my mind compared to what I had heard and read about a couple of months ago. Wild.
Yeah this isn’t promising and seems to lean towards Erase Me’s radio rock tendencies, starting to get worried
It baffles me how some bands seem to reaaaallllyyy toy with the goodwill they’ve built up in their fanbases
I don't even know what to make of this. Teeth at least had the benefit of being so far out of the box that I was able to appreciate it more after repeated listens. This sounds like Underoath trying to do Motley Crue or something and I don't think it works. Maybe it'll work better in the context of the rest of the song but this is the first time where I'm actually saying "nah this really ain't it" to anything Underoath has released
The rest of the album really has to deliver as much as the band has been hyping it in interviews. It’d be such a shame if the whole thing turns out to be a significant step down from Voyeurist
Chorus sounds like... Silverstein or something? Honestly I thought I was going to hate it, but I really don't mind it all. I am glad Spencer stays mostly in a harsh vocal range and isn't trying to sing too much, but the guitars are... pretty dumbed down compared to what I expect from Underoath.
man i hate being so checked out on these guys since they used to be like entrenched in my dna but i am really not happy with how they've played things post voyeurist in every capacity, and im a big apologist for that album. i guess this song sounds better than teeth at least
Band has gotten so silly. Like a parody of itself. Songs are weird in a way that I don’t know who is over the moon about them. Don’t understand the venn diagram here.
Last clip before it’s out, seems like it has some signature changes so I remain intrigued to hear the full thing
