in this short uploaded by the band months ago, we can hear this new single playing in the background (probably an early version because it sounds a little bit different from what we've heard now)

  2. Does it? I recognize the chorus but idk how you can decipher more as the audio is so buried

Pretty good sign the chorus is stuck in my heads, but isn’t that Spencer singing “gonnnnne”? I don’t think that’s Aaron.

this probably should've been the first single, tbh. or the second, but definitely not the fourth.

Those two just want to be pop stars so bad it feels like but they are stuck in a screamo band

and their attempts at making other music don't seem to be panning out the way they thought. did the slo/tide album ever drop?

  10. Not yet, I remember Spencer saying it was out of his hands. I don't know if he's working with a different label for that project

i could've sworn i remember him saying the label would only let him drop a song at a time, only letting him release the full thing when it had a viral TikTok moment... which is dumb

    Totally agree.

  13. Sounds like reasonable expectations put on a 40 year old man starting from scratch, making music in a totally different genre

that pressing looks sick. I’m still excited for this record and believe they’ve been inching toward something that stands up to the golden era of the band in future releases. I really wish Spencer would bring back evocative lyrics that are open to interpretation vs being so on the nose with post christian lyrics and drug use. Would love some music produced by goldman again. i don’t expect and wouldn’t want a rehash, but the way he captured sounds and drums in particular was a big part of what made this band so unique.

I haven’t listened to any of the singles since the weak generation no surrender came out. will definitely check out the new one when it drops though. i’m about as excited for the locus ultra roll out as I am for this record. feels like peak up marketing.

let's see what the Locus Ultra songs end up sounding like, if they're truly something different or just B-sides

playing shows with Norma Jean and LIMBS. supposedly either a secret side project, a codename for the band, or something entirely different. but the consensus is that this has some connection to Underoath (which feels more evident with some of the shots of masked individuals in the ATLIG video).

It’s Underoath. Not a side project. It’s just them hyping up the album release. Would put good money on them playing a set with mostly new songs

I truly appreciate them trying new things with this album rollout with the Locus Ultra thing. I think it’s really cool and I do think their set will be all of their new stuff. If it hadn’t leaked, I feel like I would’ve lost my mind over it!

But but what is the Locus Ultra thing? We don’t know

If they are putting out an ep as Locus Ultra I bet they rip some songs from that. I feel like they lean in hard to stuff like this. My guess is they will be wearing masks the while set and never actually say its underoath even though everyone will know. lol no doubt there’s going to be fans shouting “WRITING ON THE WALLS” every set.

Yeah I mean that’s what they get for opening for Norma Jean

This new album’s songwriting reminds me of Code Orange quite a bit. Glitchy and experimental (almost to a fault), yet still melodic at times while remaining mostly heavy. Almost purposefully antagonistic in nature.

    Anyways, just a thought.
