Underoath - The Place After This One (March 28, 2025) Album • Page 39

  1. Probably a hot take as well but I'm comfortable having Disambiguation - Define The Great Line - Voyeurist as my Top 3 now.

Lost In The Sound has a couple songs that I find weaker than the rest or that I don't reach for these days whereas Voyeurist is a blast front to back. Just held back a little by the production, but the Digital Ghost version fixes some of my gripes.

  2. Catching their show tonight. Not particularly a fan of Landmvrks, who are headlining, but considering Underoath rarely tours there, I was afraid this would be my only chance to catch them and I would have big FOMO if I passed on it.

Seeing them has been on my bucket list for almost 20 years, this doesn’t feel real yet!!

Same except I’d swap Voyuerist and Lost. I wish I loved that album as much as other people do. It’s a mood record for me and gets a few plays frigid winter months, but I just dont often think to listen. I was pleasantly surprised to see on my wrapped I got way more listens to TPATO than I originally thought. I dont know what it is about the two newest records but they haven’t connected with me like every other record has in terms of familiarity and replay value. The cheesy post Christian lyrics are a big problem for me.

  4. A surprise to no one here but they fucking rip live, holy shit. They hinted at coming back next year so I wonder if a potential Define The Great Line anniversary tour will be worldwide then. Hopefully it’s as a headliner in Europe this time, they deserve it!

yeah of the three times ive seen them the bookending two were incredible. middle one was a little rough but it was their first tour without james which tracks i think. last time was my favorite, aaron is one of the most forceful drummers ive ever seen idk how he didnt rip a hole through all his fucking drums lol

  6. Wasn’t on the right side of the crowd to get a good view of Aaron, unfortunately, but his mic was quite louder than Spencer’s instead lol. Was delighted to be able to see Chris go wild right in front of me!!

How many songs did they play? Still don’t know if I will go tonight, considering it’ not a headline show and Lvandmarks does nothing for me

  9. 9 if I remember well, which is not shabby for an opener! This is how the setlist went

    Loss
    In Regards To Myself
    Breathing In A New Mentality
It's A Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door
    All The Love Is Gone
    Hallelujah
A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White
    Generation No Surrender
    Writing On The Walls

Landmvrks were fun live even if I find most of their material to be generic, "Creatures" and "Requiem" aside. I wish they'd lean more on their heavier, blast beat infused side or on their melodic post-hardcore one as their usual brand of numetalcore with Linkin Park sounding choruses has been done to death. Great performers though, the singer has pipes for sure.

The venue being in the middle of a small village meant parking was a disaster so I missed Split Chain. Pain Of Truth was okay, traditional new york hardcore stuff isn't really my thing.

I’m sure that first week of January is a bit announce week to get people hyped after the holidays. Gotta imagine that starts up in April.

    I do not exist.

Bring Emery to the UK because they haven’t been here since 2010. Heck, I can’t remember the last time Norma Jean were over here too.

I assume they’ll bring the tour to the UK as TOCS was a fun time last year.

i kinda realized the other day that while this is def not my aoty, this is probably the album that most accurately captured the sheer headfuckery i went through all year and was exactly the album i needed from them to understand myself better. even though most people ive talked to seem to think this is awful lol i still find their art vital to my life

This album was one of my biggest disappointments (album wise) for 2025. It kind of killed any excitement I had for the band which is crazy cause I’ve been a huge fan for 21 years now.

I still love most of the band’s discography prior but it’s just obvious to me that the direction they’re going in is not what I want out of them. Oh well.
