Went ahead and grabbed a deluxe copy of this one. The positive buzz in here got to me. Erase Me made me angry when I was still an evangelical. But I’ve been spinning Voyeurist regularly for a year now and it slaps.
It’s always between LITSOS and Disambiguation when it comes to their best record for me. Depends on my mood, I suppose.
I’ve been sitting with my wall of text and thoughts in this Chorus text box and just can’t press send for a number of weird reasons. I don’t think my words are good enough or adequate to really “review” it and I also don’t want to inform bias/thoughts on anyone’s first listens. Lastly, I’d be doing a disservice to the people in the band I’ve gotten close to. I’m just going to wait 10 days to actually just converse with you guys about it. I was able to listen to it 3 full times during my race and I absolutely needed that in the moment, but I’m just going to wait until my vinyl comes in to listen to it again.
Preview for Cannibal is up Been looking forward to this one a lot, the chorus is very Silverstein to my ears and it's cool to hear Tim's leads + hear him play his lowest tuned riff ever
I've mentioned this multiple times in this thread (and the last one,) but to me LITSOS is peak Underoath. It's crazy how evil they sound, feels like Every Time I Die with more metalcore roots. My expectations aren't the highest for this simply because I haven't enjoyed the singles, but I'm glad there's room for discussion within this thread as opposed to the rest of the internet where everything is either the best or the worst piece of music you've ever listened to.
I know 6/7 months is kinda the norm these days but this has felt like the longest album rollout of all time lol
I still have a theory that this whole roll out was pushed 2-4 weeks forward. This is based on no evidence other than the single leaks.
And then they had the cool ‘secret’ thing with Locus Ultra… but then that never went anywhere after the live shows.
This rollout definitely has dragged out. Teeth came out mid September 2024 but that feels like a lifetime ago
seriously. i haven't even been reading this thread anymore, just click the notification and close it out. exhausted by the wait. seeyou next week.
see, that’s what happens when you stop believing in god and make fun of him in songs-he gets offended and won't ever let you release your album.
Yeah ever since Erase Me I have learned hard lessons to just WAIT to buy UO records. Voyeurist variants were and are still super cheap. No idea why I jump on it all so quickly when nothing in this reunion era is ever major buckaroos.
