Underoath on New Podcast

Man, they're hitting the podcast scene hard. I say this as a fan of the band and their newest album, I can't help but feel they're trying to eek out as much relevance as they can to push album sales. It seems they're trying to dig into new markets while staying on people minds in old markets.

It's funny that they're being so public. I always felt UO had a sense of mystery around them for years. Now they're just...out there in the open?

 

I think being "out in the open" is as much a sign of the current market as it is UO's point of view. You just can't be out there enough these days. If a bunch of the podcast zeitgest wants them on as guests, why not show up and shoot the shit.

In my opinion, I think they're very savvy to keep talking about how their new music connects (and disconnects) with their old stuff to try and turn the conversation away from being just a "legacy band".

Personally I think their latest album is the best since they got back together, so they're rightfully trying to push it HARD and yeah, new fans would be great because new fans don't complain on every comment section "do Define the Great Line again"
