Hold Your Breath and In Motion are phenomenal. Wake Me is the worst song they’ve ever written. Ihateit bugs me because it’s all one word. Good song though.
This is honestly how I felt after my first few listens too - it only grew on me more with more and more spins
Got my preorder for the 7” boxset today. Siked as all get out. Go to put loneliness on and pull it out of the sleeve to find it cracked. Fml
No Frame is so good...except by the time it gets really really good there are only 30 seconds left and all I want is for it to keep going I personally really liked the singles immediately...the rest of the album is definitely growing on me quickly aside from a few weak tracks
Okay so don't flay me, but I'm starting to warm up to some of these songs on my fourth listen now. I'll update this thread at the end of the album, but It Has To Start Somewhere is a good jam
I know I said it before but I really gotta say again how impressed I am with Squire on this. Dude is responsible for a few records I love but I genuinely did not think he’d come through so well here.
I’m a firm believer that statements like this are intensely personal and thus can’t be wrong. But wow.
I mean, you could say (pretty much) anything from TOCS through Erase Me is a top 5 UO song. I personally didn't think they could write a song like this, and they're execute it perfectly. Every song on this record is a hit, and exactly what David Beneth (guy who they recorded LITSOS with) didn't think they were capable of.
I enjoy a handful of songs at this point now, most notably No Frame, ihateit, and On My Teeth. The opener and closer are pretty solid too, as well as Bloodlust. Not much else on here that I enjoy much though. I'd say this is just an okay album. Definitely my least favorite since TOCS.
I don’t understand. Why is everyone here talking about the second full-length album released by the Lakeland, Florida band Copeland?
Whelp listened to it like 5 times today. Gotta say its stuck in my head...but I still kind dont like it. Experiencing some internal conflict on this one. But sincerely, Chris fucking killed it. And there are moments in almost every song that I adore.
The synth line in Wake Me reminds me of like Songs Not To Get Married To-era Reggie and The Full Effect.
I like wake me’s verses a lot so it’s a real shame the chorus is so bad. The rest of the choruses are sounding better though with more listens, I just wish some of them felt a tad heavier so as not to conflict with the rest of the song so much.
