That clip I just heard of Sink With You has restored my hope that I will like this album when I listen to it Friday.
Good thing I can hear Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab, Paramore, or Radiohead songs almost daily on rock or alternative stations
But I'm sure if you compare this album to bad radio rock songs from Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin, then, yeah, this might be better, but that doesn't make this good. Talk about setting a low bar just to try to prove a point lol
Music is 100% subjective though. Perhaps he just enjoys this more than those artists? I just don't see the point in arguing this. There's no right or wrong answer, and no one's opinion is gonna change.
I mean, none of those bands are even relatively close to the same sub genre of rock that underoath falls into, so honestly I think you're really reaching just to attempt to prove your point.
I'm talking about paramore, Radiohead, and jimmy eats world. You cannot compare any of those bands to underoath.
There are a lot more bands on that list than just Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin, it just seems like you just chose the lowest hanging fruit for your point. Those bands aren't even in the same league, and so far this sounds miles above that.
They asked for radio friendly rock songs and I answered. Didn't know there were more hoops I had to jump through than that
I wasn't asking you to jump through hoops, but you're trying to compare bands that aren't even relatively close to having similar sounds.
and the ihateit clip sounds awesome too. Kind of amazed at the hate this seems to be getting. The choruses would have to be really bad to offset what these clips are showcasing.
this album isn't bad, by any means, people are just really upset that it doesn't sound anything like their past albums.
Great song, and one of the more experimental on the album. That, It Has to Start Somewhere, Hold Your Breath, and In Motion are the heavy hitters. The majority of the album has little-to-no screaming.
I am not convinced that fans of the band who hate this record, are being completely truthful in saying that it "has nothing to do with the direction."
