Listening to all their stuff at once, I agree with LITSOS being their best stuff. I would have thought most people would prefer TOCS or DTGL so I'm surprised..... but like it
I still have DTGL and Disambiguation above but LITSOS is still fantastic, can't disagree with people loving it
disambiguation is all the good parts of LITSOS thrown into the darkest black hole in the corner of the universe. its super atmospheric and super dark and super heavy, my three super's that guarantee i'll like music
Disambiguation is such a good album. My first time listening to it, I didn't know I was listening to the deluxe with 3 remix tracks at the end. I was like "I really liked this album but those electronic tracks at the end seem really out of place and a strange place for the album to go....."
LITSOS has this weird effect on me where I can look at the track names and say, "Yeah, I have no clue how half of these go." But when I actually listen to them, I think, "Oh yeah, I love this part, I didn't know that was a part of THIS song." Anyway. I'm almost done with another listen of it and it rips. Like the rest of their records.
I think this past week I listened to Dis more than I ever have in a week period but I went thru a similar LITSOS kick last month. DTGL will always be tops for me probably but these 3 are timeless. Obligatory “TOCS is still a lot of fun” too. I’m really glad this record had a short rollout because I hate the thought of revisiting the discog now and then having to get in the mood again in July *cough Lydia cough* Haha same for me. Love the titles but there’s a big disconnect between title and song for me.
‘A Fault Line. A Fault Of Mine’ and ‘Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear’ have been my two favorite UO tracks for nearly a decade.
Feel like they'd still be way too busy with Erase Me, although that would be sweet. When I went to see them for Rebirth I almost considered doing what some other person did with yelling "Play Breathing In A New Mentality"
Ha me too, I literally have no idea what part goes with what song but the whole thing just rips. Desolate Earth is such an unbelievable closer...I love how the whole album is pretty much unrelenting assault and then the closer drops and it's this super awesome atmospheric track. I still get chills.
They did play it right before the Rebirth tour started at a secret show but that’s it. Hearing TOCS and DTGL was good enough for me though.
I hope they mix it up a bit with the LITSOS and Dis songs, have a huuuge feeling it’ll just be breathing, too bright, in division, and paper lung. Those are great but they have so many better songs.
Listening to LITSOS for the first time was pretty special. It blew my little thirteen year old mind to pieces. I think it will always be the best UO record. I don't know how many times I've air drummed to Coming Down Is Calming Down over the last decade.
might give LITSOS a nice loud play on the Homepod tomorrow much to the dismay of downstairs neighbors
So I been listening to their discography on repeat the last few days and for me it has to be: Disambiguation > DTGL > LITSOS > TOCS The Changing of Times honestly sucks and I suck for not appreciating Disambiguation when it first came out.
