could've sworn someone else was saying during the live stream on instagram that it was playing in the background and sounded a lot heavier. i think the most disappointing to me would be if its all just the same typical song structures. i wanna be dragged in every direction. that said i just ordered the green with black splatter vinyl. first time ive ever bought the same record twice haha
One thing I have foun Agree with you there. DTGL was such a defining album for this genre and it would be a shame if their comeback album was a bit more generic. I'm sure it won't be though.
So one person supposedly talked to someone that heard it and to that person, sounded like a Sleepwave album. Yeah I’m not putting any stock in that whatsoever.
I didn't loathe the sleepwave record, with better production more interesting drum and guitar performance this could still be good.
FWIW someone on staff of the blog I write for knows the band/their management and says they got to hear the whole album backstage a few months ago (I don't know too many details but I believe them)... They said it was both heavy and experimental, but definitely felt like an Underoath album. I'm not gonna worry yet.
Don't know what they were thinking- how can you think its okay to name your band of white dudes, "Slaves???"
Jonny Craig would figure out how to make it sound like he is being oppressed and put down by everyone around him in the world.
Being a downright horrible person still shouldn't disqualify you for friends that are in a better place and hope to see you there one day, I'd like to think with Spencer that is probably the case. He hasn't sold any laptops yet; if you're not being influenced, you're influencing.
I definitely have faith in the dudes to create a killer Underoath album. After all, only one member is in Sleepwave so I can't imagine it all sounding like that. Maybe a little bit vocally, but still. Maybe pairing with Aaron will help there.
I think I liked the album more than the average user here but The Wolf is definitely the best. I also particularly like Rock and Roll Is Dead And So Am I.
I keep seeing dumbass people say they need to change the 777 in their web address, but I would legit die laughing if they changed it to underoath666.com
