On my teeth came on while I was at the driving range and I’d like to give this another go with the extra tracks.

Loneliness is amazing and swapping it with Wake Me would have made this my AOTY definitely.

 

the lack of love for No Frame is disturbing

No frame is my hands down fav
Because it sounds like a really good b side from the previous album.

 

No Frame is indeed really good. It's not my number 1 favorite but it's probably 3 or 4. Definitely in the top 5

 

Doesn’t crack my top 5 but that’s a testament to how good the album is
Tho seriously the outro is spectacular

 

No Frame is just Great Value Driftwood but that’s just fine tbh

 

Documentary is great and only makes me appreciate the album that much more.

Is it any different from the one released last year with album purchases?

 

I know this isn’t the Underoath album we wanted but I still find something to enjoy every time I revisit

 

This is the Underoath I wanted, On My Teeth is my favorite song from them and In Motion-I Gave Up still feel so intense to me as the first time I listened.

 

If I redid my 2018 EOTY list this would still be no.1 but my goodness does it have me both terrified and excited as all hell for the next album.

 

In a recent podcast interview with Tim (forgot which one) he mentioned how the next album they want to take some time, all 6 of them, to get together and write. I'll be interested to see how it sounds compared to EM.

I will say that I found it very weird and a little concerning that they didn't include James and Grant in the actual recording or creative output of Erase Me. I know i'd be pissed and feel incredibly left out if I was in a band and in that situation. Hopefully they get to contribute more this time around!

Not hard to do tbh.

 

And I see the hyperbole of calling this album bad when it isnt has not subsided. *sigh*

 

I’ll say this, at times it almost feels like an Underoath side project to me or something, just bc it’s so different than everything else, almost like pre Spencer Underoath feels different

 

Nah, it’s a bad album. One of my biggest disappointments in music pretty much ever

 

It’s all subjective. I personally think there are some great tracks and not so great tracks.

I can also think of FAR worse disappointments in my music listening.

 

Underoath is one of my all time favorite bands, and erase me is at the bottom of everything they’ve done with Spencer so for me it’s definitely disappointing to a degree, but I still find a lot to enjoy with it.
