About 3/4 through it and I definitely agree. Tim is much better at articulating how the writing and recording process was different this time around than either Aaron or Spencer can. His attitude regarding the reception is like night and day also, it’s so much more positive than the off putting stuff the other two talking heads have been spouting the last couple of weeks.
The first few times I listened to No Frame I thought the lyric was “God has no frame” instead of “time has no frame” I thought that would have been such a cool lyric especially with the cover artwork, but apparently I just don’t hear lyrics correctly lol
I thought the same until I Googled the lyrics the other day. I’ve listened to it really intently a few times and I still hear “God” and don’t at all hear “time”. I know it’s distorted but that’s what I get.
One of the guys that worked on the record posted the raw track of that exact line and how they did it. Check it out
I could've sworn from just listening (digital album didn't come with a lyric booklet for me) the first time he shouts before the big breakdown was "but God has no frame" and but all the clean vocals for it in the song it's "but time has no frame" so I guess that does make sense.
Ah man, you really can hear it there! Thank you so much for sharing. Very cool to see. Funny that it sounds so much like 'God' with the music - I still hear a 'g' sound.
i love seeing things like this because I watch and say.. "wow, that's such a simple yet great idea..I could totally do something like that" and then realize I'm not nearly creative or talented enough to But on topic - I can't unhear "God Has No Frame"
I’ve listened to this album quite a few times. It really does seem like a ploy to push into the commercial mainstream market. I just don’t know what else to chalk it up to.
This album solidified the fact they'll be around for the foreseeable future. I was wary at first that it'd just be some reunion shows and then they'd be done. I welcome their arrival back into the "scene" and relevance. Stay around!
I’m already incredibly apprehensive about the next record because I’m expecting even more mainstream flavor but I’m gonna enjoy this ride as long as I can.
Yeah this is still good. I crave so much of the electronic stuff in this though, I wish a lot of the samples were like twice as long. I think it'd be GROSS as Chris says in the doc
truly not trying to be a dick or even really start a conversation about the merits of the album but i have the /500 deluxe on black copy of the record on vinyl if anyone wants it. i don’t see myself ever listening to it on vinyl after sitting with it a bit. it’s still sealed. hmu
Saw them at las rageous tonight. Some notweworthy stuff is that they played it has to start somewhere, as well as In Division for the 'die hards' as spencer said No frame was played as well. It was cool
My deluxe translucent Black came in yesterday and...it’s not translucent black, just straight black. Discogs says a production error meant they were all black but since there was a production delay one would think it was resolved?
Production errors and delays are different. Black Translucent seems like a hard color to press anyhow.
