I thought both the post and the response were kind of funny, but I'm on the outside. I'm sure it sucks to get piled on by "fans" on social media because you put out an album.
Yeah the stupid "lol is this nickleback" response to anything remotely mainstream is obnoxious and I don't blame spenser for getting annoyed at that.
Aaron replied to it too saying “you suck”. Yeah, I don’t blame Spencer for responding like that either.
It also kinda sucks for Nickelback to always be the butt of everyone's joke lol. Low hanging fruit IMO.
The only songs I listen to on this album are - I Has To Start Somewhere - On My Teeth - No Frame - In Motion - I Gave Up After repeated listens the album is still just "okay" for me. Actually, Loneliness isn't bad, I just forget to listen to it because it's saved as a different album on my phone, been meaning to fix that.
Haha thanks! It bums me out that they broke up, definitely one of my favorite albums. Fun fact: I watched them open for Paramore in high school, but I had no idea who the fuck they were at the time, so I barely listened or appreciated them. Now I'll never get to see them again :/
I Gave Up has moved into number 1 for me. That bridge is just too good. Keeps giving me chills when they finally let Tim just go at it.
I like songs on off their first three albums too actually, but hard to defend after that. There has always been worse and less talented bands to me lol
I got to see them four times with my first being the record release show for Small Steps, Heavy Hooves. It was at a coffee shop in in a small city in Tennessee and there was hardly anyone there. I had only heard their three songs released on myspace at the time, but I got to chat with the band and they even played "Run In The Front" for me.
Nah, not really. ihateit is alright, but the choruses are bland to me. Not big on the others. Ive thought Bloodlust was the worst on the album since I first listened to it heh.
Daaaamn I am SO jealous! It really is a pretty perfect album for me. Midwestern Dirt is probably one of my favorite songs period. A woman who ran an open mic night I'd perform at during high school recommended me the album when she heard I was a Brand New fan at the time and I immediately fell in love with Run In The Front.
People making posts like that to Spencer and the rest of the band are dumb but they gotta be careful with how much they respond back. Every now and then is funny but it starts to look a bit much if they do comments to every person trying to come at them
band members responding in excess to negative criticism from fans and journalists alike will never not be corny as fuck
don't remember that but I remember the transit and SYG debacles with Thomas Nassiff and both bands coming out of those instances looking like children
