Still not growing on me whatsoever after five more listens. Would barely put it above their pre TOCS albums, just barely. Don't understand the fuss about it.
Vital is such a stellar record. It’s a shame they ended on a meh note with Lowborn. Definitely hear Anberlin sounds on Erase Me.
I’ve never had this conflicted of a relationship with an album lol. I listen to it a LOT and it’s certainly grown/growing on me, but I’m still frustrated with quite a bit of things about it.
Whats the song at about 28 minute mark of the documentary, where aaron is playing drums along. That song would be my favorite if it was on the album.
I’m importing my Target copy into my iTunes to get the two bonus tracks onto my iPod and the default genre it’s giving the album is Religious LOL
Listening now and Loneliness would be perfect on the album. Bummed they decided it should have not been there. Another Life is okay, but Rapture and Wake Me are definitely better imo
One of my favorite more "radio rock" records as of late is the last Beartooth record. Solid workout album.
the stretch of Hold Your Breath-No Frame-In Motion is pretty good but I have no real desire to return to any other parts of this
It's really a massive improvement over his previous work. I really think his drumming in Paramore and singing less on this record really helped him out. Aaron and Chris are the highlights of this album for sure.
The bridge of Bloodlust is very much a classic Underoath sounding moment imo. Reminds me of something from DTGL-era. (Yes, I’m listening to this yet again lol)
