Man... gave this album a few more spins and the whole thing clicked for me. I was absolutely not prepared for that to happen. It ain't the Underoath I'm used to, but it's very enjoyable. I don't even hate Wake Me.
Are either of those heavier songs, or more along the lines of the rest of the album? Thinking about swinging by Target later.
Awesome that's good to know. I think I'll swing by and pick this up. Excited to hear another heavier song by them.
Nothing low key about it. It literally sounds like they are featured on it. I do like the album a ton but I’d have scrapped this song, but I’m not in the band so fuck what I think. Haha.
The more I listen to it the more I like every song. The 3 they played live last night in Chicago went over well.
Wake Me didn't stand out as anything crazy different from the rest of the album on first listen, at least not something everyone would be up in arms over
For me so far its above Disambiguation and TOCS but below LITSOS and DTGL, so right in the middle. Loving this album so far.
I do like this record a lot but I would only rank it above Chasing Safety. Maybe above Define The Great Line as well. Disambiguation will forever be their best record IMO.
First week album sales looking quite good. So, I don’t think it’s gonna be forgotten. The band’s status and tour are doing well too. Not sure how to quantify this tbh though.
idk. i totally get that. i could also see it being an album that debuts in the top ten or whatever and drops off the chart entirely in week two. i guess we’ll see haha
lmao @ watching this documentary and comparing it to reactions in this thread squire: if we stay away from riffs in this song, i think we'll be able to achieve what you're talking about spencer: YES chorus thread: WHERE ARE TIM'S RIFFS
i mean, that’s not crazy. bands can totally want to try something “new.” and i respect that. doesn’t mean it’s what fans want. the documentary, now having watched it, kinda makes me respect them more and more excited for future records. it doesn’t change how i feel about this album and how bad it is, however. and they seem to know it’s bad, or at least that people will perceive it as bad.
oh, yeah i know. just funny seeing the contrast between disappointed fans and the satisfied band members about that specific thing
Loneliness is great. This album has grown on me a lot, and seeing No Frame live last night was amazing.
Man, Loneliness is crazy. It does a certain thing I love in songs where like, I can almost picture where I want a note in a melody to go, and it goes there. Specifically the part in the chorus with "but don't you fear my friend" and he hits the word fear high. It's weird but I love it when it happens. And then the ghost part of course is great.
