Is admired for his impeccable (food) tastes Prestigious

Is that logo new or they been using in for a while now?

I believe they started using it after the cycle for Voyeurist, so it's been a year or so. All their recent singles use it.

Side note: this is their heaviest song in a long time.

If you’re talking about the double lines O, yes, first I’ve seen of it.

I think it's time for this band to hang it up. Really have not been relevant for like 10 years and it just keeps getting more snoozy.

I don’t know about not being “relevant” dude. Their current tour sold out on a buuuunch of dates and their last album “Voyeurist” was honestly incredible (and I think slept on hard).

This wasn’t personally to my taste. I demand that they retire.

They claimed to be filming for the music video at their show in Austin a couple weeks back, interested to see that

They’ve been hit or miss for awhile. But this time is great!

A stronger track from them - I very much enjoyed "Vouyerist" from them, but I feel like this collection of songs feels more like "Erase Me"...
It's great they've been experimenting with bringing back some more angular elements with "Survivor's Guilt" and this single, but some production elements such as the reverb/modulation chosen for the chorus vocal effects weren't my favorite choices.
Many bands have very competent in-house engineers these days (as Underoath has shown), but it would be cool to see a band like Underoath go and collaborate with a heavier producer like Ross Robinson for the next single or EP.

Stopped faithfully listening after Disambiguation. Granted I’ve listened to everything since, I just haven’t liked it. I didn’t like the new direction, I didn’t like that they decided to start swearing in their music, and I didn’t like how they bashed the Christian label on their way out.

I’m no prude. Swearing in music is no big deal either. I’m not a Christian either. I just believe that they made a mistake by announcing it and making it a bigger deal than it needed to be. I miss the ambiguity. UnderOath hasn’t really been preachy since They’re Only Chasing Safety. If I felt anything was too preachy on earlier releases I would simply skip it. Now they’ve gone the complete opposite direction we’re not only not gonna preach but we’re gonna go out of our way to use vulgarity because I guess it sounds cool? Idk I don’t get it, I don’t like it, and every time they release a new song I’m reminded of just how annoying it is.

they barely sold out Chicago and it was a livestream event, I've never seen that venue so empty LOL i saw neck deep and atmosphere at the same spot and they pulled WAY more people. so yah they def didn't sell out Chicago. venue was too big for them. BUT it was really nice to get around the place easier with less people, that was a plus!

I agree. For me it mostly has to do with their old sludge metal stuff where they wrote anti abortion songs. Don’t get me wrong some of it is good musically, but lyrically you could tell they were very immature and preachy with their faith.

They hit their stride with Define The Great Line and Lost In The Sound Of Separation. I also really enjoyed the Spencer led Disambiguation. I’m not sure what’s happened since. Voyeurist was sonically better than Erase Me, but the lyrics are just abysmal. They posted some half baked explanation where swearing for them adds emphasis to their music. I think it sounds dumb, and it sounds so out of place in the music. It’s almost like they wrote all the lyrics and came back to them later and said alright where can we fit f*ck into these songs.

I agree on the swearing. It just feels forced. It's like the very perfect kid in school who just found out about swearing and tried it. It just doesn't feel right. I enjoy the music itself tho! It's different but not in a bad way

Everything up through Disambiguation is phenomenal and 10/10 for me. Since then it's been hit or miss. There's definitely some bangers but some odd choices along the way as well.

I do agree the cursing feels forced at times, but maybe that's moreso because of their history. If you haven't been in the Christian world, then it's hard to understand how significant of a lifestyle/culture upheaval that is and what kind of backlash you get. I still somewhat consider myself a Christian, but my beliefs and attitudes have changed significantly over time. I didn't completely run away from it like them but I have some sense of understanding where they are coming from.
