Having finally listened this is an accurate assessment. Four Tet is a good comparison. Cool record, definitely a bit more chill than the last one
Speaking of Four Tet, I've been going back to Parallel a whole lot the past month. Most likely one of my favourite projects of his at this point. Also want to reiterate just how good that Yu Su record is. Early in the year but it already feels like one of the ones to beat. (I also hear some Four Tet in it too)
Got about an hour 10 into the DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ album today before it started to get a bit repetitive, but going to pick it back up tomorrow or the next day. Great rec from this thread, everything I heard was very enjoyable.
Don’t know if anyone posted this when it came out (last year) but seems like some cool stuff. Only heard “Caught in the Night’s Web” from it so far but reminds me a bit of Xen era Arca.
Those Leon Vynehall tracks are good. Admittedly I prefer his house material but I’m looking forward to this LP now
Posted this in the Jaar thread, but it also fits in here (I realized it has more A.A.L. than anything else). His live shows are always something special. In the description it says the audience had some control of the set based on their movements, which is wild.
