This Cole Longanecker EP came out today, listening now. Only two songs on it so its worth checking out. Moments of it remind me of Sophie in how its chaos has structure and organization, at times sounding like a giant machine at work. Really great, also more ambient than I expected from the preview.
Anyone a fan of Sweet Trip? Not a new band/record, but my buddy recommended them to me and I am really into their record Velocity:Design:Comfort. Its like glitchy/IDM, Stereolab, and shoegaze all rolled into one. It's all over the place but not necessarily in a bad way. cc: @yung_ting
I remember hearing this once from a random rec on this very website (maybe AP?) and I thought it was great, will definitely revisit
JV actually mentioned it on the recent AMA so I checked it out. Glad I did, definitely going to be one of my favorite records this year.
Didn't realize this released on Friday. Really good stuff. Anicca, by Teebs edit- not sure why it's not embedding but oh well.
I mentioned that in the instrumental hip hop thread, but it probably fits in here more than his other albums. But yeah. It’s really good.
Hyped to listen to this later. Been watching this dude for awhile. Danish producer, sounds like off-kilter pop with pitched-up vocals and some ambient vibes
He's got the tightest aesthetic for his album art. They're all so cool and this one might be my favourite.
Half way through the new Andy Stott and so far, it's bloody great. Plus there's a new Karenn album out today too!
just listened to the few songs that are on Apple Music, I thought he was an EDM guy but this is really nice!
i think the whole EDM scene/circuit is where he started but hes always been one of those DJs that puts a heavier focus on melody (similar to a porter robinson). His first album is basically just a Passion Pit album tbh lol so he sits nicely in that realm of things
