Denis Sulta to release eight-track EP, Aye Spoake Te Sumwuhn & Theay Listenhd, on Ninja Tune YESSSSSS
its been awhile y'all but i wanted to bounce some ideas here. i'm currently working on that project that makes playlists, but on steroids (using a neural network n shit like that). i have a database of all artists ever posted on nodata and glorybeats, and on top of that, i have every artist that is on bandcamp. the database i made has over 500,000 artists from all sorts of genres. using the genre tags from nd and gb there's about 145. i then did an exhaustive search on spotify for the top artists in those genres, and grabbed the audio analysis of the top ten songs from each of those artists. my goal is to make an app that will allow people to search any amount of genres or artists, and it will make a playlist for them from artists in my database. the more genres/artists in the search, the more narrow the results. what i'm worried about is if taking the averages of all the audio features from the top artists would be a good representation of said genre. spotify has well over 1k genres which i'm pairing with the 145 root genres. idk man i'm in over my head just trying to graduate lol. if anyone has a suggestion in how i could possibly generalize a genre and its sub-genres, please let me know!
