You may or may not want to go for the same reasons I may or may not want to go haha. It's part of the Electric Island series they do once a month over the summer and there's a huge list of names announced today but no word on who is on what day. There's a lot of bad and boring shit he could be matched up with - they haven't seemed to have a good handle on curating likeminded artists together in the past so I've never went before. Not worth ticket and a ferry to see one good act and sit through five bad ones. That being said: Mall Grab(!), Jackmaster, The Black Madonna and Dam Funk are all on the list so if he's on the same day as pretty much any of those I'll be making the trip

 

Oh god, electric island. My girlfriend worked for the city on the island last summer and she was able to get into those for free but the line up is usually so trash we didn't bother. If he ends up without Dam Funk I may make the trip out there, especially since it can be really nice out on the island over summer.

Fingers crossed for some kind of after party though. I'm so surprised that's what would bring him here.

 

Yeah, it's hard to say! I went to Toronto to see Vynehall at Bambi's for my birthday a few years ago and by 1030 the line was so long they told everybody to not waste their time and go home so I'd reallllly like to see him and get that awful taste out of my mouth.

EI is weird, there's always a couple great DJs mixed in with run of the mill festival stuff. Bicep played the long weekend last summer and I alllllmost went. Would be nice to see Vynehall play a club set outside of that place though. I'll keep ya posted!

I went with my girlfriend to see Sondre Lerche last night, and for whatever reason The Dedekind Cut/Lee Bannon opened with a set, and I don't think I've ever seen a more confused crowd in my life lmao
