Q: How do I get into Electronic Music? A: Great question! Electronic music encompasses so many different sub genres that the list below will vary wildly album to album, so be sure to give as much of it a shot as you can, and don't give up so easily because there is a pretty big barrier to entry with some of these in terms of accessibility but are rewarding in huge ways if you just open up and let them in. The albums and EPs listed below either got me into these styles when I discovered them 4-5 years ago or are just really fucking great albums from the last few years that I love a lot. Feel free to ask about any of these below and if you have suggestions of your own let them be known! Also, this list leans much more contemporary but there are definitely a lot of classic electronic albums that you should check out as well. Works from Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Portishead, Mr Fingers, Frankie Knuckles, Daft Punk, DJ Shadow, etc. are worth checking out to understand the history of dance music. Anyway, without further ado, here's a huge list of electronic records that I love!
