The line "while co-starring in their own problematic HGTV show" has me immediately looking at the cost of a Showtime subscription.
Can you imagine how even more intense Uncut Gems would've been if Bernie played Howard? That's something I want to see.
Unrelated to Uncut Gems, but I watched Scorcese's After Hours last night and it definitely felt like it could have influenced Good Time. The story of one man's journey into the city overnight, lots of colors and side characters. It was an interesting connection. Would make a good triple feature with Inherent Vice.
If you are looking for a movie about someone's misadventures throughout a single night, the correct answer is Adventures in Babysitting.
I liked After Hours but it is a wild ride lol. A super dark comedy that, if I were to read the script to, probably would have assumed was a thriller/drama with even some horror elements. Not sure I've seen anything like it, although I watched Barton Fink the night before and caught some thematic parallels.
