The Ringer also did a rewatchables of it with the Safdie brothers so I wanna watch it before I listen to that pod.
Loved the ending but I’m a huge Boston Celtics fan so I wonder how people who don’t give a shit about sports felt about it
not knowing anything about basketball definitely helped at the end because I had no idea what to expect
Leaned over and said the same thing to my buddy at that scene lmao What a movie to kick off the decade with. Loved this
Good. They should keep making original movies. Hopefully the success of this lets them do whatever they want
Yeah I’m excited to see that writing it gave them their own idea. Maybe a Safdie style buddy cop movie? Fuck yes please.
I can already see two partners loudly arguing with each other while driving through New York and the person they arrested is also shouting from the back of the car and the sirens are blaring, dispatch is constantly chattering and there's loud music playing over it all. I'm in.
My crowd hated this lmao. I enjoyed it but I felt like it didn’t meet the lofty expectations I set for it. That might be because Good Time totally and completely blindsided me when I saw it.
My brother and I went to see this yesterday and we both absolutely loved it. This movie built up so much tension that I was sweating throughout the film and anxious the whole drive home. I was relieved with the ending. If it ended differently idk what the point of the movie would’ve been.
I don't give a shit about sports and I thought it was maybe the most intense scene in a movie this year
Just saw this. Hated the first hour due to the anxious pace of everything, but came around to it after the bedroom scene between Howard & his wife. Felt like she was speaking as my personal rep as she ripped him and that unlocked the enjoyment of the rest of the film.
Saw this yesterday and thought it was great. I typically love movies that are well received by critics, but half of me was thinking that all these great reviews were being a bit exaggerated due to critics being surprised or excited that Sandler was just doing something different so I kind of went into it thinking that it may not live up to expectations but it really does. Sandler was so great that 10-minutes into it, you lose yourself into Howard and forget that it's even Adam Sandler. I do think the first 30-40 minutes are kind of exhausting due to the fast pace, how loud it is and in general just so much screaming and yelling but it sets the atmosphere for this chaotic, hectic & unhealthy/dangerous lifestyle that Howard is living. Also, my wife doesn't know a thing about sports/the NBA and still loved it.
