apparently the tour is being announced tomorrow U2 to outline tour dates for The Joshua Tree on Monday
Announcement should be coming tomorrow. Current rumors are that it'll hit NA in May/June and then move to Europe for July/August. Hopefully once the tour wraps up they'll drop Songs of Experience on us. Just hope they use it as an opportunity to look back (fuck yes at the chance to hear these songs live) while also looking forward. (say something about SoE/play a new song, etc.) Either way, I'm very excited about all of this! Edit: Also talk of a new mix of Red Hill Mining Town being released as a single to promote the tour.
On Friday I decided to revisit U Talkin U2 To Me from the beginning and ended up listening to War yesterday. Hopefully this will spur a new episode
http://www.u2.com/news/title/the-jo...2_official&utm_campaign=U2C_20170109_announce No Minnesota. I think Chicago is the closest to me. Meh.
THEY ARE COMING TO PITTSBURGH HECK YES. And Cleveland, too, as a back-up date. I am absolutely gonna be there.
Shooting for Chicago or Cleveland. This is the second U2 tour in a row that's skipped Michigan entirely, though, so that's getting frustrating.
U2 > News > The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 "Tickets for U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 are on sale Monday, January 16th in Ireland, the UK and Europe and on Tuesday, January 17th in the US and Canada. Ticket prices start at €35.00 / £35.00 / $35.00 with general admission floor tickets at €70.00 / £70.00 / $70.00." $70 for a floor ticket is a steal.
The Joshua Tree turns 30 on Thursday, so I wrote up a retrospective about it. U2 - The Joshua Tree • chorus.fm
Listened to this album on my run today. Those first two tracks are some of the best running songs of all time.
I've often maintained that the first three (though you could extend that to five without me complaining) songs are one of the best opening sequences in modern music.
Not to double post, but listening through, I'm remembering how much I love the bass tone on Joshua Tree.
The first three tracks are arguably the greatest three-track run in the history of pop or rock music. But yeah, side one in general is incredible. And side two is great, too, just less heralded.
If anyone has $170 they're just itching to spend... U2 Official Store | U2 The Joshua Tree 7LP Super Deluxe Box Set* This looks pretty cool. If I didn't already have this album on vinyl, I might consider springing for it.
Been spinning Songs of Innocence a bunch this week. I think that might be the most unfairly maligned album of the 2010s.
