I Killed You is nuts. Love it.

 

Very enjoyable first listen

 

This is unreal good. His output since Cherry Bomb has been fantastic. Insane 4 album run right now.

Darling, I definitely should be huge

 

Went through most of his solo stuff over the last week, def not me. Really respect his vision and commitment for his projects but yea not for me.

 

I really don’t get what more Tyler has to do to start having his name thrown around more in GOAT conversations. He’s infinitely more deserving of that top 3 spot than J Cole lmao

 

The beat drop when Glo starts on Sticky is so good

 

J Cole ever being in those conversations is a travesty. Man has never put a good album out

 

I enjoy the majority of the last few albums but don't love any of them all the way through. First listen of this, to me, is already his best by a wide margin

 

All I could think of on the first track was the flow from this parody

 

I fucked up by not ordering the vinyl, $30 is a steal

 

I think there’s a scent of “immaturity” that follows Tyler around imo. Which is really stupid. And J Cole is treated as some kind of thoughtful elevated hip hop. Makes no sense tbh.

 

J Cole sucks. He probably tells kids to stop sagging and pull their pants up.

 

Basically if you wanna listen to him these days you can just ignore the wannabe edgelord stuff pre-(Scum Fuck) Flower Boy right? I've never given his stuff a fair shake for whatever reason, probably because of the associated wannabe edgelord stuff, maybe I've been missing out?

 

I honestly like a lot of Wolf and Cherry Bomb but yeah he starts to become really good at Flower Boy so I’d start there, work forwards and then maybe backwards after if you want more

 

He’s on a generational run right now

him and Kendrick top two in the mainstream game

I remember I initially put cmiygl like below flower boy but then the more I listened I moved it up

 

CMIYGL is my 1.

the “I might buy a boat” lyric/beat drop is like…..top ten music moments of the last 5 years for me

 

It's not really necessary to check out the early stuff unless you're really hurting for more music from him and can handle the slurs. I definitely wouldn't revisit Bastard or Goblin if you don't have a history with them. WOLF and Cherry Bomb are kind of transitional and have moments to love.
