he changed his bio on twitter and it says fuck features idk if it means much but it’s still funny to see lol
Crazy to think that 2010 Tyler was getting called a homophobic edgelord and 2024 Tyler is writing emotional anthems about the struggles of coming out of the closet.
Hate to invoke the man, but “St. Chroma” is like when I first heard “Dark Fantasy”. “Rah Tah Tah” is so good, gives me the album the same juice that “CORSO” gave CMIYGL.
Yeah, this is great, "Take Off Your Mask" actually fucked me up. "Sticky" is a crazy banger. "Judge Judy" is the only one I immediately didn't fuck with. I'm just really, for lack of a better word, proud of how much he has matured both personally and creatively since GOBLIN and I do think those early records served a purpose, but he is just firing on all cylinders right now in a way that's been reminding me of Outkast a lot lately
I thought he was literally done after Cherry Bomb. Like done done. Cooked. never been so wrong in my life. 4 immediate classics. also is the non deluxe version of CMIYGL even available on vinyl? I love the DL artwork so much, and I have a disdain for deluxe versions of albums…and the suitcase artwork just kind of stinks.
it is available but it has the artwork of the deluxe. the one with the bonus tracks also says “the estate sale” in the corner
"Balloon" is crazy, I've never heard a beat like that before lol idk if I love it but Doechii bodies her verse, lotta fun guest spots on this. I know it's a short verse, but what is it about Tyler that makes Wayne rap good? Lol
Literally was thinking the same exact thing. I just literally made a post on my socials saying "this feels like the most 'Kanye like' album since Kanye became a neo-nazi" This kinda feels like Tyler picking up the mantle that Kanye squandered in a way. In terms of this level of big artistic production focused ambitious rap project.
I dream about a fully Tyler produced Wayne album sometimes. their chemistry is unreal excited to check this when my headspace is a little less fucked up, based on some of the descriptions of it I've read
Yeah I fully believe we don’t this get stretch of incredible albums without the OF era ones existing. They served their purpose back in the day and laid the groundwork to help him evolve into the artist/performer he’s been since Flower Boy.
