    I hate spoilers. Supporter

This feels pretty immediately my favorite since Purgatory. Love it!

Yeah I haven’t connected with anything he’s done in years but I’m digging this.

first track has so much swagger. in that new long GQ interview he said he wanted to do a holler version of a braggadocios rap song and he nailed it

Eatin' Big Time and Bitin' List have been on repeat since Friday. What a fun album. This is right there with Country Squire for me, behind Purgatory of course.

We reach for the longest shadow

Watch Out was a lot of fun. Wish this was slightly more focused, found myself looking to see how many more songs there were, but overall I really liked it.

The stretch from Down Under to Tomcat doesn't reach the same heights as the rest of the album, but Getting to the Bottom through Watch Out is incredible. Minus the fact that he didn't "mess up" his back.

This is my favorite since Purgatory. There are 2-3 tracks that don’t do much for me, but Eatin’ Big Time is like an instant top 5 Childers banger, and Cuttin’ Teeth, Oneida, Poachers, Getting to the Bottom, and Dirty Ought Trill are elite.

The response from some of the country purists is so embarrassing lol. Tyler’s always been weird, he’s always been adventurous, progressive, all the things they’re taking issue with.

And whether you like some of the production choices or not, the word “overproduced” needs to be retired. “Snipe Hunt” sounds like a garage rock song on purpose, obviously people who want Follow You to Virgie won’t like it but the people producing this album knew exactly what they were doing and it all sounds great to me.

I think I agree with the sentiment you’re expressing generally but you are the first person to use the word “overproduced” in this thread. Unless that’s a continuation of your vent about obnoxious country purists haha? I’ve commented on the production in here and I definitely do not like some of the choices but that’s definitely what I said.

@eagles1139 ignore me if this is general discourse and I’m blissfully aloof haha

Haha sorry I actually haven’t kept up with all the responses here so my comment was 100% not directed at anyone in this thread. The discussion around this album elsewhere (his subreddit, social media etc) is…bad lol.

My own fault for engaging with that stuff but usually the subreddit for an artist I like dropping a new album is a good place to check out…learned my lesson there.

Totally get having issues with some of the production — I’ve just seen a ton of people who clearly only want “stripped down country instrumentation” and probably only listen to country music talk like this is some kind of amateur hour mess or something.
