Greenland’s probably 20-30 minutes too long, but still way better than expected.

 

As I mentioned earlier in the thread I care less about the CGI tornadoes than I do about them nailing the "quirky maverick weather nerds" spirit of the original, and based on the trailer they seemed to have not failed on that part.

 

Actually good, not a joke. You expect something ridiculous like Geostorm, but this ticks every box for a good disaster movie. Thrilling, emotional, well-made. I really enjoyed how it focuses on just a man and his family trying to survive. Some thought provoking scenes on human nature in the midst of chaos as well. There are parts that really feel believable.

I can now confirm that Greenland is in fact a great disaster film - bring on a sequel!

 

Why did they have to do another tonado one?

We got the old trailer at our screening.

 

We got the old trailer before a 25th anniversary screening of The Mummy this week.

 

Got the new one. There’s a fire twister!

The first one was at the right timing, and the original one. I don't think I can watch another - unless there are flying cows.

 

Looks like good old dumb fun. I’m in.

 

Seems like it will be a fun summer flick. The sound editing in that trailer was annoying though. It has like 10 fade in/fade outs.
