I’m not gonna debate with you. Me and you have never agreed on anything movie wise so let’s just skip that part. However you feel about his movie choices following Twin Peaks... he should have been way bigger. He is super talented.

So I just watched the first episoded of Ghosted (the comedy show on Fox, May already be canceled, not sure)

And it starts with the subtitles

“(Electricity crackling. Ethereal whooshing)”

Couldn’t help but think the caption person is a TP fan

 

I don't remember ever talking to you before but if we never agreed before that seems like more of a reason to debate it. There would be no point if we agreed.

Showgirls is great satire. People misunderstand that the acting and storyline is supposed to be over the top. It is a recurring theme with Verhoeven's films.

 

Unfortunately, Verhoeven seems to get misinterpreted a lot. See also: Starship Troopers

 

I rewatched Starship Troopers about a week ago. Its message continues to resonate, especially in the Trump era.

 

Is this the type of show that would get recognized at the Emmy’s? I don’t think I’ve ever watched them before. But I guess Jim Parsons has won a million awards so they must be trash

 

I don’t think so... they mostly recognize popular shows and I feel this season didn’t really achieve a wide audience

 

Hmm. It should win a “Most Groundbreaking” award for episode 8

 

Doing my rewatch and completely forgot about “Hello Johnny, how are you today?” Haha

 

Should honestly win all the awards, but the world isn’t ready yet. Award shows can be such trash.
