Starting this for the first time, don't have much Lynch experience but i've loved Lynch-inspired things. Very excited
That's when I knew this show was something special. Creeped me the fuck out when I first saw it about 6 months ago, that scene. Keep watching. This show is incredible. I've got 7 episodes left, then the movie. I'm at that weird point in the show where it was getting mixed reviews, but it's still interesting enough. Can't wait for the final (3?) episodes.
Whenever Josie dies and Annie comes to town is when stuff picks up again with this show IMO. After you find out who Laura's killer is and afterwards is still great, but in between those is the low point for the show by a wide margin. I still enjoy it but on re watches I sometimes skip those episodes or barely pay attention.
got the first season finale for tomorrow. the tone of the show and the procedural/soapy elements aren't things i definitely did not expect going in.
I hope they keep this stuff for season 3, and I hope to god they keep this: Listening to it just reminds me of season 1 in all its glory.
Yeah I really hope the soundtrack is more Twin Peaks than Fire Walk With Me (not that FWWM isn't great too). I still listen to the Twin Peaks soundtrack pretty often and it's such an important part of the show's feeling.
truly a mesmerizing show. i think the episodes after you find out lauras killer become this self-aware self-parody in a way i've never seen any other television show do, and it's still interesting enough to keep you going and draw you fully back into the world with the last few episodes. the music, the dialogue, the atmosphere of the town. just truly makes it unique to itself
Might wanna start spoiler tagging or blacking out stuff. I imagine heaps of people would be getting into this show at the moment or in the near future based on it's recent announcements and hype.
Finally watched Fire Walk With Me the other day and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to. Mostly just because I was aware beforehand of the highly divisive reputation it had amongst fans. Though I liked it, I can see why people hated it at the time. (Way darker, the humor is contained to the first half with characters we've never seen before in a different town, ramps up the impenetrable Lynch-ness, etc). Though I do think it could've been edited a bit better in parts, or at least, a lot of the deleted material should've been left in. All the cut Bowie scenes were great imo, shame his actual role in the final cut was so minimal. ALSO realized that apparently Michael J Anderson has fully lost his mind these days and after scrolling through his facebook page, I'm actually almost glad he's not returning ha.
I didn't know that about him. I mean, the finale of this show how many years ago his character did say.... Next you see me, I won't be the same or however it went. So I'm not too beat up about it. Did like him in Carnivale tho. What bums me out a lot though is Truman isn't the same actor. Can't win them all though. I'm also going to visit where this was filmed in July (I live in Pittsburgh PA). There's other reasons I am going to Washington, but that just so happens to be a nice pit stop for a day or two. Can't wait.
I also don't think I've been more excited for anything to come back, or premiere, television or movie wise. I figure I first watched this show WAY too young (I was around 12/13?) and have been haunted by that finale since. I'm 28 now. Show is about as old as me really. Never in a million years did I think this would come back with the same cast and we will get a proper conclusion (from what it sounds like). Star Wars coming back is a close second for me personally but deep down I always knew they'd continue on. Money talks, I mean come on. Twin Peaks is much different. They're doing it for the passion, the art, the fans, the reunion, personal reasons, conclude the show, etc. It's kinda surreal really.
5 more episodes, then FWWM. Just met Annie, and I gotta say, that moment between Harry and Coop where Coop managed to calm him down after Josie's death, was just beautiful. Pure brotherhood.
Friend of mine insisted I watch this right away but I'm on episode 3 and can not get invested in any aspect of this show for the life of me. Should I just move on or is it worth it to keep going?
