I'm pretty sure the scene with Cooper lasts a minute longer than what is shown there, so I'd take videos like that with a grain of salt.
I'm really curious now thinking about Audrey's story. I strongly remember some random guy bursting into the Double R and asking if anyone has seen Billy. Just how much of that is going on in Audrey's head--if at all?
I went to go check Apple Music and like half of the music from twin peaks soundtrack was invisible and why they gotta make me make a custom playlist for.
I'd always wanted to see these two scenes paired side-by-side. Interesting, though I'm not too sure what exactly to make of it, if anything haha. However... ...this is something I was leaning towards as well, and my interpretation of those scenes now that things have concluded. Although I don't know what to do about the Roadhouse scenes with James, unless those were "our" reality, where many of the same characters exist but...also don't. Or whatever lol. Funny thing, I learned today that Charlene Yi voices a character on Steven Universe called Ruby. also, those Simpsons posts are incredible.
also, with it being one of my other favorite shows and it having it's own mini-return later this year, I feel like I should recommend the Psych episode that's one giant Twin Peaks homage. Lots of the show's actors appear as characters and there's a TON of references and shout-outs packed into the episode, to the point where I didn't even catch them all the first time.
this is long, and I haven't had the time to read this whole thing, but it states that episodes 17 & 18 need to be watched in unison. Wrong or not, it's fascinating how many different theories have come about from this finale, and how many seem plausible. Episodes 17 & 18 of ‘Twin Peaks: the Return’ are meant to be watched in sync
Do you think when FWWM was made that Lynch/Frost knew that Sarah's scream was due to Coop being there?
Honestly this seems perfect. I've been wondering what the 2 birds, 1 stone was referring to because the other clues were pretty obvious and I didn't buy it was just a throwawy line from Cole. I'm definitely gonna try this tomorrow and see how it works out.
Technically he wasn't there the first time she screamed was he? I've been thinking about it and I feel like if he was there during FWWM, wouldn't she have gone with him during that timeline as well?
Just finished reading this and I'm kind of blown away. I fully subscribe to this interpretation now haha. Damn.
Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned here or not but it's neat how the scene with Laura and Cooper in the woods sort of mirrored the way Lynch described what he wanted Angelo Badalamenti to write for her theme.
I believe that the visual symmetry between the episodes is there and a lot of that is suggestive but some of the parellels pointed out in the middle seemed like a stretch haha
Holy fuck that 17/18 sync theory is amazing. Specifically the ending. Sarah smashes Laura's picture as she screams.
Enjoying these theories but not allowing myself to pledge by any one theory. That sync theory, especially how it works in Sarah, is great. With that said, Twin Peaks is a work of art that's meant to always stay a question. There's no one right answer, and reading all the different plausibilities gives me a warm feeling in my heart. This finale has left me in a state of surrealism that I haven't shook off in days. I got high and went to the supermarket the other night and felt like the bread section was pulling me into another dimension, and I swore I heard an ominous humming tone come from the self-check out. These are the wild effects of watching too much Lynch but my world has been mystified. I'm so glad this show exists.
What was Bad Cooper's plan? We know what he did to avoid going back to the lodge initially (creating Dougie), but what was he doing going straight to Twin Peaks? Surrounded by cops and whoever Cooper was going to bring with him, it doesn't make much sense.
I asked this earlier. Someone said they believe his plan was to kill Naido as she would lead good Coop to Judy. Seems plausible.
Yeah it makes sense that Naido would be the target, I realized that I never even thought about why Bad Coop would come to Twin Peaks, I just thought of it as a narrative inevitability
