Was Audrey's husband supposed to be deformed or something? His head looked way too big for his body.

    This was Part 8's doppelgänger.

I mean I love Lynch and this season already had its share of brilliant moments, but I have a lot of unexpected issues with the way it's constructed. The highs and low have been particularly upsetting since episode 9.

I dunno why everyone needs answers right away. This has been a circular discussion since the very first season. You don't watch Twin Peaks for answers, you watch it to get lost in Lynch's weird little world. To watch the beauty unfold. Just throw away your expectations because they won't be met. That's how Lynch is as a director.

Take for instance the scene with the French woman, which left a gigantic meta-impression on me this episode. Are we going to be Albert--desperate to shoot straight and get right to the business, impatient and unwilling to sacrifice a few moments for leisurely pleasure? Or are we going to be Gordon-- satisfied, content with the slow movement of things because (after all) there is beauty being meticulously prepared and presented to us?

I am certain things will play out as they're meant to, and of course, it's reasonable to feel anxiety about the end approaching-- but as far as I'm concerned, this season has only reaffirmed Twin Peaks as one of the best and most creative shows ever. You can't reinvent television every hour.. then it's just an art project. This is a television world to feel yourself a part of.

I remember reading an interview with Lynch in which he describes the creation of Twin Peaks in his mind. He didn't have a story. He just felt an emotion characterized by rustling trees, running water, and a dark moonlit night. Slow seductive jazz. A young girl's murder. Before it was a story, it was a feeling, and even now it lives true to this inception.

Sometimes you just gotta let go of the story and feel the feeling.

Actually, I think we've had too many answers and one of my problems with this revival is exactly how vulgar, precise and "unLynchlike" the investigation scenes feel like. From characters dumping exposition (mainly Gordon) of things we already know or could deduce to the "scientification"of many surrealist/absurdist events. That reduces the scope of interpretation...

Plus, the overuse of forensic and gore, the way those headless bodies keep appearing without strong emotional impact just banalizes a series whose violence used to be poetic and disturbing at the same time (the Bad Cooper scene in part 8 is exactly that way, which makes it so good).

In the same line of thought, I'm loving the Dougie arch, I just wish it was more constantly developed. The slowness isn't what bothers me, it is the accumulation and endless introduction of lifeless and one-dimensional characters...

I actually really like the "scientification" of those events. Twin Peaks still occurs within the realm of the real world, no matter how far removed it feels sometimes. In the original series, characters initially looked upon Cooper's dream-logic as ridiculous and unprecedented, that is until he proved himself. There are multiple dimensions in this show and I suppose there are certain paths to reach them-- some of these ways are scientific. I think we'll definitely see more of that mixture of scientific and mystical later on when we figure out what the hell those portals were (and who made them? and how?) in the beginning of the season.

Also which characters seem one-dimensional to you? Just curious.

I've resigned myself to the fact that we may not see Agent Cooper in action, aside from as Dougie. As much as I would like to, this doesn't seem to be part of the story. The forward-motion seems to be behind Gordon and law enforcement in Twin Peaks, which may be the point.

The only reason I think we'll see Coop is cause of the occasional appearance of the one armed man. With that said, I don't think it'll happen until the last two episodes.

It seems like Lynch realized how hard it would be to shoehorn so much of the old Twin Peaks formula after 25 years. After all, the teenagers are middle aged and the adults are elderly, so the dynamics are radically different. What is interesting to me is how the younger Horne is going to develop as a possible reincarnation of BOB or whatever it will end up being. The girl who swallowed the frog monster has to loop around to, which we have not seen since.

I feel like that scene was one of those dreams where you have to do something, but nothing is working out for you and it's insanely frustrating. The guy won't get out of the chair and help you, he won't look into the crystal ball that's right on his desk, and he won't tell you what was said on the phone, and for some reason you're stuck in one spot and can't move. Or at least that's how it was supposed to make you feel.

I was laughing so hard at the scene in Gordon's hotel room. The trolling was real.

I haven't disliked a single episode yet thus far. Although after last week only getting a short scene with Coop was kind of disappointing. But still, the quality has been high throughout for me.

Yeah, even though this wasn't my favorite episode of the bunch, I was smiling pretty much the entire way through-- which is rare for me because I'm a very jaded television watcher haha.

I don't get why people are so down on this last episode, it wasn't much of a departure from what they've been doing all season.

It wasn't my favourite episode but it wasn't bad either... it was actually very enjoyable. Sarah Palmer was incredibly haunting. Sad that there's only 6 hours left but 6 hours is a hell of a long time to answer some of the questions everyone has.

We've had Audrey now where is BIG ED?!

I've been enjoying the stuff with Coop since the beginning so it's nice to have so many new recruits complaining about his decreased presence this episode haha

Enjoyable episode. Not the best, but it felt like some things were pieced together, although not much.

Main thing I got, (which was predictable anyway) was that the coordinates on the arm led to Twin Peaks. Means that DIane, Gordon, Albert and Tammy will be heading there soon. I have a feeling all the loose ends will culminate in the final two episodes, with something big happening in Twin Peaks, but knowing Lynch, I could be way off.

My buddy's theory on old-school Coop was good too. He has a feeling we'll get a very similar thing at the end of this season that we got at the end of season 2, the whole 'How's Annie?' thing, but just with ten seconds of the Coop we love, and then Lynch will end the series.

Also, I like the theory that the Roadhouse characters we're meeting are just Twin Peaks residents, going about their fucked up lives. Gives the town that dark twist we all loved in Fire Walk With Me, but in a modern sense.

This show really is something else.
