I don't need an old formula, I was entertained by Dougy at first, but now I'm just like fuck, come on, give me something. I'm enjoying the show for the most part. it's just this part at the moment I'm struggling on, but i'm willing to stick with it.

If others are enjoying it, great, but just because I don't declare everything is brilliant doesn't mean I complain just to complain.

Watching Dougie is exhilarating. When you get those glimpses of old Coop, there's nothing more authentic, so even while nothing is going on, you can't take your eyes off Dougie. Every moment matters. You're watching a man awake from the dead through the otherwise banal sensory experience of someone else's life.

Also you're not up to date on the episodes. Dougie's storyline ramps up a bit. I'd give it some time. And remember the whole point is to want Old Coop back.

I understand why some people are frustrated, but I find Dougy hilarious and have no problem not getting 'real coop' back until the last episode.

I was crying laughing last episode @ him getting lured to the office by the coffee in the background.

that's actually a really interesting way of putting it. I rewatched episode 5 and enjoyed it more, definitely going to give it time and stick with it.

I think pretty much everybody felt that way about dougie after episode 5.

Personally, Im getting a bit antsy for real Coop now. Not because I dont like Dougie, but because there are only 7 episodes left and I want a bit of time with Coop still.

I've long expected/assumed Coop won't be back until the last couple episodes so I'm still enjoying my time with Dougie and I'll be very pleasantly surprised if he's back before then.

Literally was just coming in here to say the same thing. I lost it seeing that in the background of the glass office doors.

It is so weird how I want this to end because I want to know where it all is heading, but at the same time it makes me really sad that there are only a few episodes left and it will be done for good.

As far as dougie, i'm really enjoying that part of the story even though I miss coop. I think my impatience with dougie is a lot more about how little cooper we will actually get than about how much Dougie we got.

Also after rewatching 11, I really wish David gave Angelo a cameo as the piano player. Would have made a huge impact, specially since it seemed like he was about to play Laura's theme.

Holy shit the "he's dead" exclaimation from Gordon. And Dougie being led by coffee. Great stuff.

I didn't like Dougie much at first but the more I see of him the more charming I find him, especially seeing the bits of Cooper in him (following the coffee, his fixation with badges, etc.). Between the last two weeks and Mr. Jackpots, he's been the source of some of my favorite moments of the new season.

I will say that although I've adored nearly every second of what we've gotten so far and I don't want this to sound like a "WHERE IS THE OLD TWIN PEAKS?!" comment...I'm still dying to see even a few minutes of Audrey. I know she's coming eventually but I'm still a bit surprised we're 2/3 of the way through the show and she's been completely absent.

Lynch knows she's a favourite. She'll be there for an episode or two probably. Classic Lynch keeping the fans on the fish hook.

With how many shows are coming back for revival series/one-offs, I admire the restraint shown in the new Twin Peaks. It would've been so easy to just cram in as many classic cast appearances as possible and retread the same ground as before without introducing anything new but thankfully that isn't how Lynch (or Frost) operates.

I feel like if the show were still confined to the town of Twin Peaks and hadn't expanded to other locales it would've ended up feeling a bit like a class reunion or something, rather than the whole new experience it's become. Not that it wouldn't have still been enjoyable, but ultimately I think the decision to take all these risks and test the audience's expectations (and patience, ha) has paid off wonderfully.

Thinking back to the first two seasons, so many of the show's most memorable moments have nothing to with Cooper, and we've gotten all sorts of great stuff separate from him this season too. Also, as little as we've got of Coop, we've got a whole lot of Kyle Maclachlan. That's all I wanted

    Actually perfect.

This show feels like Twin Peaks, but it also feels like an entity all its own. It feels like it should for 2017. I'm so glad Lynch didn't fan-service the fuck out of us because while the first few episodes might've been amazing, it would've potentially turned dull very quickly.

Arrested Development tried something similar with season 4 but it didn't work as well, hence why they're going with the old formula for season 5. Harder to do with ensemble comedy though, and also they only had a 7 year break, as opposed to 26 years.

I just got my Black Lodge Cooper & Laura Funko Pops! in the mail and they might be some of my all time favorites.

Not sure if it's been brought up yet in here but did I miss something with that ending scene, where the pianist started playing and DougieCooper got one of his "vaguely remembering" moments where it seemed like it was awakening something in him? Was there something about that moment or the music that tied back into the OG series?

Yeah, totally true. In doing that, he's managed to set a new bar for the television landscape, all over again and, I'd wager, influence the way television shows can operate in 2017 and beyond. I mean, It could well be jumping the gun to say the show is changing the game again, but I don't think it's too big a stretch to suggest that that's the case.

I bought that set on eBay (I hate giving money to flippers but...fuck, I had to do it this time haha). After that I'll have the whole set. I work at a Hot Topic so I ended up getting the full series (sans Black Lodge set obvs) for super cheap. Really hoping they do another wave or two of figures. I need a Gordon Cole POP in my life haha.

Holy fuck. I'm at a party with this girl who I think is v cute and she saw me tattoo and was like, "omg my friends dad plays Leeland Palmer" and continued to show me a video of her and Ray Wise. I am amazed.

    Marry me.
