Another great episode. The stuff with Bobby and his mother saying that Garland never gave up faith in him reminded me of this scene and how beautiful it is. Such a shame that Don S. Davis passed away before the revival came to pass.
Also makes me wonder if the plot was always going to feature Garland being dead already or if it was written that way because Davis died. I mean, the corpse being that of a 47-year-old seems important to this story in its current form, so I wonder like if Lynch had ideas for more episodes before Davis died that he had to scrap because Davis was gone, or if it was always meant to be that way. Really I just want the one thing Lynch will never give us, which is a window into his creative thought process on this revival series.
Garland was always one of the best parts of the iffier parts of S2, really glad that despite the actor's passing Lynch found a way to make him one of the focal points of the season.
Hoping when/if we get the Coop we love back, we have a campy old school Peaks scene, purely because I want this song back :
we need another scene with James and Donna for this song Just youuuuu And iiiii Together Foreeeeeeeever
My boss has a theory that that scene represents them having a threesome but because it's network TV they went with that instead
Full disclosure I didn't come up with that, I saw it on Tumblr. But OP is a fascist so I'm stealing it.
Hated that scene, haha. So cringey. Loved the use of Hook Rug Dance in the diner with Coop and Annie.
Yeah, my brother actually has both of them on vinyl, it's cool. Not something I go out of my way to listen to that often but every so often I get in the right mindset to listen to it.
