I like to think he's an actor Lucy and Andy are paying to play the part of their dead son who perished in a motorcycle accident
when Coop hears "agent" and repeats it wistfully to himself, my heart broke also got major Frank/Blue Velvet vibes at the bar Maybe its just me but... It's starting to get pretty difficult keeping up with the new characters so I was hoping maybe we could get a Cast of Characters type thing going, so this way we know who is connected to who
So many people on Reddit are saying Sonny Jim "blinked backwards" which didn't make much sense to me. But here's a clip of the blink in the episode And here is the same thing in reverse and it does look a lot more natural tbh. If this is true, then it's very likely he is an entity created by the black lodge. I also think it's totally possible that it's nothing.
Is it just me or does everyone seem strangely at ease with Dougie suddenly being a non-verbal blank who doesn't even seem to know what planet he's on? haha. I feel like it's implied that he was a pretty odd guy but everyone so far just seems sort of "uh, okay weird, but whatever" about it. Not really a complaint, just strikes me as kind of odd. Not sure if I buy the "his whole family is a construct" thing yet but there's definitely something weird about Jim.
I haven't gotten that impression. Beyond the whole casino miracle, it seems like everyone is pissed off at Dougie. Literally every interaction he's had with anyone is a complete failure, they get frustrated with him or physically maneuver him into doing whatever he needs to do. He's been non-verbal for what--24 hours?-- and he's probably going to lose that insurance job ASAP.
I mean, they're more at ease with him than people would be in real life, but this is Lynch's reality so I buy it haha
Hahaha, oh god yes. I lost it at that whole bit. Aside from the prologue scene with the Giant and Cooper, Jacoby getting that shipment of shovels was the first scene of Twin Peaks' return. And it turns out they're just a gimmick item he sells through his Alex Jones Lite podcast.
And now, in retrospect, that incredibly long scene of him painting the shovels is equally hilarious. Also that shot of Amanda Seyfried's face in the car was great.
I didn't realize at first, but that's Mike who calls Shelley's daughter's boyfriend out on his resume.
Question regarding FWWM and the original series. Spoiler tags in case you haven't seen FWWM: My sister just started watching the original series for the first time and she has a lot of questions but it's been years since I've watched it so, are we ever made aware in the original series that Bobby killed that dude in FWWM?
It's because it's not Dougie, it's Coop, and his love of coffee is one of the only bits of himself he has left haha
What I loved most about this episode was Agent Preston looking at the photos of old Cooper and 'bad Cooper' while investigating fingerprints, as well as the throwback to Cooper and Bob in the black lodge. Love those little nostalgic bits. Whole episode was great though, love how things are starting to unravel/piece together slowly.
