there's a casino near my house i'm totally gonna go sometime and try the HELLLLOOOOOO! method on the slots
Just finished FWWM. Its funny after watching the movie and the current episodes of The Return, its amazing to me that this show was somehow on primetime network television. The story really feels in its element when it doesnt have to pass through FCC censors.
Sadly that method also requires being able to see a small window into the Black Lodge over the ones primed to hit.
Oh yeah, I finished my rewatch of FWWM and man, I didn't remember the second half at all so it was really like experiencing it for the first time. I absolutely loved it. It really made you feel for Laura.
Update: my girlfriend and i just finished the season 2 finale. She absolutely hated it, said it made no sense, listed off a series of maybe 30 different questions about the lives and fates of certain characters, and wrote off the movie and new season almost immediately. We almost had an argument about it lol. Then i remembered how i felt watching the finale. Incredibly, existentially frustrated. It took me a few days to think over. I remember praying for a third season. The movie only gave me more questions. What was with this fucking weird mythology? But i dug deeper and deeper. Still loving it despite its second season flaws. Still loving it despite its unanswered questions. My girlfriend and i spoke a little bit about it and shes asking lots of questions in that same pissed-off-but-strangely-loving curiosity that kept me waiting for a Twin Peaks revival. Im hoping she comes around for the new season and the movie because its always a pleasure watching good tv with the ones you love, but theres something extra warm about it when its Twin Peaks
But seriously, if this season is the end of Twin Peaks, I would love some closure and explanation to it all. Knowing Lynch though, he'll leave us with more questions.
He's said he plans on leaving it open in some way for more in the future if he decides he wants to do it. So, I don't know how much closure there'll be but it won't be entirely there.
At least it'll be a planned open endedness rather than the Woody's Roundup situation we got with season 2
Tbh I'd actually love it to end after these 18 episodes. It'd be so cool if it wrapped things up neatly, but still left us with questions, but not in a total cliffhanger way. I just think like, being the special event this new season is, it's also a good way to bookend the Twin Peaks world.
c'mon now. there's zero chance he is giving us all the answers we want when the show finally ends. my guess is we will have more questions than ever.
Conversation seems to have slowed down in this thread as we're all just waiting for this Sunday. It's going to just explode again once we all see what comes next haha. Also, are we getting two hours every weekend or are they going to do one per weekend for the rest of the run?
I'd be interested in seeing a Twin Peaks finale that provides some answers, though I admittedly love Lynch's drive to taunt and bewilder his audience. Despite that, I think this story deserves some light resolution. It doesn't need to be tidy, but I'd love to see the vision of this world unfold to its fullest extent
I have to say, the fact that this show debuted in a world without memes means this new series had a lot of expectations to meet in terms of memes. It hasn't disappointed thus far, they've been mostly of the dank variety.
