Thought I recognized the girl who has sex with the guy who watches the portal from something. Turns out I technically don't, but also turns out she was the youngest daughter on The Nanny
i haven't. Also I really need to rewatch Episode 3. I just found out that Dougie and Dark Cooper aren't the same person and that there wasn't a short time jump in the beginning of the episode. I just assumed that Dougie is a nickname for Dale that I've never heard/forgot Coop's name was Dale and not Doug
not gonna spend too much time in here because I'm watching through this for the first time. Watched all of S1 over the course of a day and a half a few months ago when I was snowed in, then kinda fell off. 10 eps into S2 now though. The last maybe 14 minutes of Lonely Souls (s2e7), holy shit. I have no words.
Took a break from the forum due to new job, new girlfriend, etc. Back. Loved the first 2 eps of season 3. Dark, creepy, and the fact that Lynch didn't ramp up the special FX too much made it feel like authentic Peaks. Episodes 3 & 4 this weekend. Will do my best to avoid spoilers.
I think they totally could go deeper into her story. It seems linked to Jeffries and Windom so it'd only make sense. I mean i know nothing about that portal box thingy in the new episodes but it could lead to or have something to do with that "in-between space" lots of characters get lost in
I wish I had waited a few weeks to start this. I forgot how emotionally draining it can be to wait each week for a television show.
I will probably marathon the whole thing when it comes to the end. This is the first drama I have kept up with since Mad Men. As the days go by I love what we have gotten so far more and more.
I'd also like to mention the visuals in the new episodes are truly glorious and stunning. Those aerial shots of the town, of NYC, the waterfall. That purple seascape Coop finds the faceless woman in. Even the rolling credits over the crowd of bobbing heads at the roadhouse. Everything is so mezmerizing and vibrant in a way Twin Peaks never was before. I'm loving it so much just to be welcomed back in.
I know it was written and shot like an 18 hour movie, and as cool as it would be to marathon all at once, I'm also getting a lot out of it having to sit on the episodes and think about what we've seen so far
I rewatched one and two last night. picked up a lot that I missed. Margaret's second conversation with Hawk is one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever watched truly extraordinary television. gonna rewatch 3 and 4 on Sunday when they air, maybe have some people over again. it's a fun thing to gather around
Luckily I have no idea what's going on, so re-watching 3 and 4 Sunday night instead of a new episode is still a totally productive thing to do.
I've been rewatching with my wife. It's amazing how often he utilizes this. I can't remember the exact scene. But the other night there was a scene in season 1 where he went back and forth between 2 characters faces about 3 too many times, without them saying a damn thing haha. It's pretty hilarious.
Long periods of silence are definitely a Lynchian hallmark, though I admit i kinda love it. Reality is filled with moments of silent observation and contemplation, and rarely do you find a director who shows you those intimate moments. Also imo it adds a deeper weight to the actual dialogue
I can't find the clip but one of my favorite Twin Peaks moments is from season two when Andy is outside with Harry and he's like, "Do you want a thermos of coffee?" to which Harry slowly responds, "......yeah" and then Andy asks a series of questions and gets the same response from Harry every time and it's hilarious.
