It's gonna be tight but I believe in my ability to abandon all semblance of a social life to re-immerse myself in Twin Peaks.

 

Just started this show for the first time. I'm on episode 4 and I don't really get it yet. Seems like a weird night time soap opera to me. Not sure if I will stick it out or not. My favorite scene was probably the jail scene in the first episode when they start barking and screaming. The amount of doughnuts and coffee is also funny. And lastly, I did enjoy the coffee, eggs, and bacon order from Cooper. That was really funny.

 

Yeah it's super melodramatic, much like a soap opera, but it's wholly intentional. I usually tell people that if they aren't fully on board by the end of episode 3 then it might not be for them.

 

Every time I've watched Twin Peaks start to finish, this is how I've done it. I truly believe there is no other way

Have you seen FWWM before?

 

Yes and no. I was very drunk and don't remember much.

 

Haha, that'll make for a great rewatch. Kind of like when you haven't watched something since childhood, and when you watch it again as a grown-up, you realize you remember stuff but the meaning is all of a sudden different. Hopefully you get to it. I'm interested to hear what you think

 

I remember thinking a few things

1. Wow, Lynch is having fun with this one
2. David Bowie!!
3. Where da fuq is my bae Lara Flynn Boyle

I'll make a point to watch it soon. Maybe tonight.

 

I'll probably watch Fire Walk With Me tonight.

 

FWWM is so incredibly disturbing in the best way. It's what you get if you stripped the series of all its coffee and donuts and left all the heartbreaking sadness of Laura's last moments.

 

I'm glad people are starting to come around on FWWM

 

I got the impression people were only down on it around the time of release. I've heard almost entirely good things about it the past few years at least

 

FWWM is really good and does not deserve any of the scorn it received but it's a movie I've only ever seen once and I've never had any desire to go back just due to how emotionally distressing it is haha. And that kind of stuff doesn't usually even fuck me up too much.

 

I started watching FWWM and I noticed Kiefer Sutherland and I was like oh shit we in for a good time.

 

soooo... just finished episode 7 of season 2... will never see denim jackets the same again...

 

I finished FWWM right now and now I'm even more confused about the plot.

but also I hate James Hurley even more.

 

I think I'll watch FWWM tonight. I bought the box set a while back and it was the only thing I hadn't watched.

 

It's definitely got confusing moments but its worth looking into and researching. No David Lynch movie is without its additional research!! Lol

 

I love FWWM, one of my favorite parts of the franchise. Can't wait to watch it again, been a couple years.

 

I feel like Lynch would not be down with these stupid party-packs that showtime is selling...$30 for branded paper cups and napkins and stuff, haha.

 

Finished up the series, going to watch the movie tonight, then Secret History throughout the next week...just one week until we get new Twin Peaks, seems surreal to finally be this close after all this time.

 

Just finished reading secret history last night and there is a LOT to unpack. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a refresher / willing to read through clutter for clues about the new season.

I haven't watched this yet, so I don't know how good it is, but there's a 55min recap of the first 2 seasons and FWWM on youtube. Comments are positive.

 

I watched the first half earlier and I think it's really well done.

I'm trying to finally finish this tonight, still got like 6 episodes left and FWWM.

 

Done with the show/movie/Missing Pieces! Now just Secret History.
