FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

Pretty stoked to listen at midnight. Listened to the four songs while at the gym, all good so far. I liked the last album for a couple weeks but I never really came back to it. Still like Ride a lot though

My expected vinyl delivery was pushed from tomorrow to Saturday. No biggie, just hope I get it before I go out of town next week.

Can’t believe how good this is. It was a long wait, but it certainly didn’t disappoint. Welcome to Trench indeed.

Chlorine, Morph, and Neon Gravestones are initially standing out as my favorites from the new ones.

  9. Since chlorine is not a liquid, I wonder how one goes about sipping a straight gas :chin:

This is everything I've wanted and more from this band. What a great evolution in sound. Cut My Lip is incredible

    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

For a band of their popularity, to sustain such a level of artistry here, blows my mind.

RT if Legend makes you cry every time.

Great album, surprised at the number of slower and longer tracks here. Not a single bad track here as well. So many good things to say about this release, can't wait until chlorine and morph blows up

Love this album after the first listen.

Favourite songs so far Legend, Smithereens and Neon Gravestones.

    Least favourite probably Morph

Loved it. It became available after I finished a 13 hour drive and, crazy as I am, I left the house and drove another hour to listen. Worth it.

I love that everyone I talk to, and seems like in this different thread, has diffeeent favorites (and different least favorites).

Chlorine, for example, was one that just struck me as kind of average the first couple times. But then half way through, they mix up the structure a bit. Then those last 2 minutes. The “can you build my home with pieces, I’m just a chemical” part comes in and you remember why TOP is so special with what they do.

You can definitely hear the Mutemath influence on this album. Probably why I enjoy this more than their other stuff.

Also Paul's feature on neon gravestones makes perfect sense but really didn't expect it. I don't think they usually feature other vocalists so that was really cool to hear.

Chlorine/Smithereens/Neon Gravestones is definitely the best stretch of songs. I think I would have released Pet Cheetah as a single, too - that thing is a monster.

All in all, though, when Jumpsuit and Nico and the Niners came out, I said something to the effect of ‘these may be the best songs Twenty One Pilots have ever written.’ And I think I stand by that.

All in all, this album is everything I could possibly want from this band. They haven’t had a misstep yet, in my mind, and are just continually getting better.

Definitely agree with your first statement. I'm astounded they pulled this off. It was not what I expected, and while I don't think this will sell as many copies as Blurryface, I think they made the album they wanted to make, not what would sell millions. This is for sure an AOTY contender for me.
