For the life of me I can’t figure out what song on this album they would open with on tour. I guess I would say Choker but that’s just because that’s what they opened up with on the Livestream.
Pretty surprised that there has still been no vinyl announcement. I get that there are vinyl delays all over the country, but it hasn't stopped any other artists from at least offering a pre-order. I'd be happy to pre-order now and wait as long as it takes to receive it as I have for countless other bands within the past six months.
I have tickets to next years' Southside Festival in Germany, and from watching the livestream and the other TV appearances they have made, I kinda can't imagine them NOT doing a full-scale show with a band like this.
Finally got around to listen to this and it's very enjoyable. The vibes throughout the album put me in a good mood. Favorites are The Outside, Saturday, and Mulberry Street.
This band has the most unique music. There is no words that can describe the feeling of playing their music for yourself. Especially drums! Download Ringtones Free - Best ringtones for Android, IOS
Honestly, for me, it'd be super weird for them to play with a whole band for an entire show. I could maybe see them playing with some added musicians for the newer stuff, but I can't see a full band for like, Car Radio or really anything pre-Scaled & Icy. It's something the band used to kind of poke fun of (I specifically remember their first ever late night appearance they put mannequins holding instruments on stage with them).
Disclaimer: I say this as someone who has never seen them live, and have only been a casual fan until Trench, which I loved. Love this one too. I hope they have a full band for the tour. That live stream was so good. Plus, would be awesome to see Paul Meany go out with them. He has become basically a ghost member of the band for the last couple, and I would just love to see him live again in any capacity. Haha
I saw them play with FOB and Panic! and halfway through their set their laptop crashed and they just walked off after a few minutes and ever since then I thought they should have a band lol
I've seen them no less than 15 times - from small bars to arenas - and at no point have I ever thought they should play with other musicians.
This is exactly how I feel. I know that OG fans are more connected with just the "duo" vibe, but for those of us that latched on more recently, a full band is just more impressive, and for this exact reason below. I also saw this happen to Passion Pit at a small venue in about 2010 or so I believe. They awkwardly talked about how they aren't a "real rock band" until the computer booted back up. Still a great show though.
They could still do certain songs as a duo, but yeah everything they did live heavily relied on backing tracks which is not that exciting for me personally.
I just think it's who they are and a large part of their success has been directly because of their live performances and the energy that they bring with just the two of them. Tyler is a mad man on stage, running/walking/jumping all over not just the stage, but the entire venue. I just think adding to that is unnecessary. Like I said in my original post about it earlier today, it'd be cool if it were for a few songs from the new album, I guess. But definitely not for the entire show.
If I had to put money on it, that's the way I think it will be. Kind of like the live stream - full band for some of the SAI songs, but duo for much if not all of the older stuff. See I thought "Ride" during the livestream was incredible with a full band. Gave them the chance to really rock it out. And I have seen tons of footage from over the years of them playing festivals, arenas, etc so I definitely am familiar with Tyler's onstage persona. It probably just comes down to a matter of preference, because I can totally see your side - but if I'm Tyler, hell I'd be more comfortable to go even crazier knowing I've got a tight band behind me. I doubt anyone going to a Twenty One Pilots show is going to be distracted by a few auxiliary musicians and not focus on Tyler's stage presence.
I personally think they should (and will) go full band now. They've talked about it before and it's the next logical step up for them. Plus I don't see why they'd be performing them full band everywhere if they don't plan to tour it that way. I do think they'll continue to have a part of the show that's just the two of them where they run through the older hits, which to me is enough.
