My roommate wants to go to the Chicago date this Sunday but it's sold out. I assume most dates are sold out.
I work at the Nashville venue, and the only two shows I took off for all season cause I didn't want to work were this show and Brand New/Modest Mouse. I'm stoked. It'll be wild.
Way too much Blurryface for me. I wish all the songs in the medley would be played in full. Debating selling my ticket..
I thought the setlist was near-perfect. I saw these guys 7 times since Blurryface came out, and going to 7 shows on this tour...and was very pleased the other night in Chicago. Seeing Hometown and Ode to Sleep made the night. Their new production is fantastic too. I had hoped they would play more of Fairly Local than just an intro, and Not Today remains the only song off Blurryface I haven't seen live.
Was at the show last night in Camden and they were excellent, my first time ever seeing them. The setlist was great, but was sad they didn't play Ode to Sleep (one of my faves by them). They had a lot of energy throughout the whole set and sounded great. Tyler also dedicated "Doubt" to Christina Grimme.
How long is the show? Show starts at 7 at Agganis, and wife is dropping kids off there, and needs to spend X hrs waiting - so shes trying to find a place to hang out, but in the meantime... show could end at...?
Going on vacation to Hershey, PA this weekend with my girlfriend and going to see them there. This will be her first time and my fourth (I think?). Haven't seen them since Blurryface. I'm not going to look at the setlist (which I do too often).
Set times have been around: 7:00-7:20 - Chef'Special 7:35-8:15 - Mutemath 8:45-10:45 - TOP TOP plays almost a full two hours and end between 10:30-10:45 depending on how much chatter in between songs.
Went tonight in Connecticut and was absolutely blown away. I've seen them 6 times now (varying venues - from to just 8 other people and tonight, a sold-out 10,000 person arena) and I swear that they just keep getting better and better live. The way they command the crowd is just insane. Can't wait to see them again in January.
Went to the Kansas City and both Red Rocks shows this past week, and all three were amazing. Red Rocks was especially lit! Can't wait for next year.
It's an amphitheater with stadium seating bleachers. Depending on the show, some of the seating is reserved and some is general admission. But yes, no open pit, and no hamster ball. They also did Josh's drum island differently as well, it was elevated next to the stage vs held up by members of the crowd.
Going tonight at MSG. Does anyone know if this has been starting at 7 or 7:30? I saw 7 earlier in the thread but my ticket says 7:30. Either way, just don't want to miss Mutemath.
I know it's past the point already, but the show has typically started at 7, Mutemath at 7:35, and TOP at 8:45. But it looks like MSG is a half hour later. Hopefully you didn't miss Mutemath and hope you have a great time with TOP! Pretty proud that this little band grew to play MSG, twice. I've seen them 13 times and the crowd keeps getting bigger each time. Nobody leaves their show not wanting to see them again.
Hoping they change up the setlist a little bit for the ERS 2017 dates, and these upcoming festival dates. The exclusion of "Doubt" and "Fake You Out" is killing me, that's the ultimate KO combo for me.
They were playing Doubt at the start of the tour but phased it out for Heathens. "Fake You Out" is one of my all-time favorites by them so I would love to see it. I think they'll stop playing the covers medley, since Mutemath and Chef'Special are gone now. They originally had a mashup of "Not Today" and "The Run and Go" on the setlist, but never ended up playing it. I'd be okay with that one as I haven't seen "Not Today" before. They played "Message Man" at the last show at MSG so hope that sticks around too!
Agh, I already don't like "Heathens" that much so that makes me resent it even more, haha. The covers medley may stay for festival crowds, and "The Run and Go" encourages more interaction, so I hope to see that one. I'm pretty sure they played "Message Man" in Duluth? I hope they keep it as a set list staple. I'm okay with saying goodbye to "Hometown" if they keep and/or extend the old song medley. (Wishful thinking hoping that I'll see them do "Clear" or "Trapdoor" one day?) I'll be at the Music Midtown and Birmingham dates, maybe Memphis, so fingers crossed.
"Message Man" was only played once on tour, 2nd night at MSG. I hope it returns though. "Hometown" is one of my favorite TOP songs, so I hope it doesn't go anywhere (even though the performance is kind of a throwaway aside from the "trick") Honestly I wouldn't expect any major changes the rest of this album cycle, they tend to keep their production the same for at least a year at a time, usually just adjusting based on set length. I certainly wouldn't hold your breath on anything pre-Vessel. I don't have any more TOP shows this year, going to 3 for sure in January/February but probably at least 2 more. I'm nuts.
The video visuals on this tour were phenomenal...Hometown especially. The dog chasing the rabbit in the middle was a nice touch. The performance though, once you realize the first 2/3 of the song isn't Tyler on stage and is just a recording, is a bummer, but the "Dynamo" trick is pretty sweet. I had hoped they would play Hometown in the encore before Trees, and play the whole song. Could also be a cool opening song also.
