Song is really cool and I'll never miss a chance to see them live

From what Tyler is saying in the Zane Lowe interview it sounds like this album is made up of songs that weren't finished for Clancy and songs they made on tour after

 

I’ve never really followed the lore for these albums, aside from peripheral stuff and more blatant stuff on the albums and music videos, but I saw this video of a guy breaking it all down and holy shit. I didn’t know 98% of that haha

 

can you share a link to the vid? I’ve been meaning to sit down one day and go through it all, but if there’s a Cliff Notes video I’m all in.

I tried to see if there’s a YouTube version but it looks like it’s only on TikTok. It’s 10 mins, and he did an extremely good job of breaking it all down. I knew they went hard on the lore, but this blew my mind haha

Honestly, I’ve been following this band since they’ve been playing dive bars across Ohio 15 years ago and I consider myself a die-hard TOP fan and I couldn’t tell you one thing about “the lore” or whatever.

 

Same, and I never cared about it either, but that video kind of blew my mind. Extremely impressive what they’ve crafted.

 

Looking at that VIP seating in West Palm for the tour. I’m scared at what they’re going to be charging.

 

I’m nervous about getting tickets at all. Sit me on the lawn for all I care. One show in Texas is insane.

 

First listen of The Contract was pretty lukewarm but watching the video sold me.

 

Spent $400 on tickets today because I’m a sucker.

 

The Contract making the rounds on my local rock station. Even catchier on my 3rd listen. So cool.

Drum Show just dropped. Good song, with the highlight being a small vocal part from Josh, or as Tyler stated "jocals". He sounds good! Can't wait for the album.

Another banger, huge 00s alt rock vibe and I'm all for it. I imagine it soundtracking a Burnout, SSX or Need For Speed game back in the day

 

It's been a minute since I've connected with a TØP song from the drop like this

 

TOP leaning fully into mid-2000's alt rock has been my favorite part of this era. Midwest Indigo, Navigating, Next Semester, and now this are some of the best songs they've ever put out.

 

Yeah this is incredible. First listen and was already hooked.

Definitely agree that the alt rock approach of this works SO well for them. Would definitely love to see them lean into that style in the far off distant future. Still dig their experimental elements, but wow is this song big.

I'm surprised people on this site don't love this band more. They've become one of my favorites over the last year. They have a really awesome catalog, very talented and down-to-earth guys, and span a bunch of genres. They also put on a kick-ass live show.

 

Really going to try and see them live in October. Never have and I’m due for it.
