Lot of great LG C and G deals lately. I just looked on best buy and they have a B5 2025 48" LG for 599.. kind of insane. I might finally have to upgrade my bedroom tv from an old vizio.
Is that not the normal price for a 48 inch B series? My 48 inch B4 that I got 9 months ago was the same price
Maybe, not sure. On Best Buy It says you’re saving $700 but even if you’re not that’s a pretty damn good price for an LGOLED
Huhh that's very surprising that it was originally $1300, that's more than my 55 inch C2 was haha. Did the B5/C5/G5 go up in price dramatically when they launched?? But I do agree, anything less than $1k for an OLED TV is great
So I have an older 65” CX as my living room tv. I think I read you have a C series and B. Worth it for the B? Like not too different from the C series.
I think it looks excellent, and it's still brighter than the cheap $300 LG LED 4K TV I used to own before I invested in OLED, anyways. I have noticed in certain lighting conditions, it can get a small glare on it. Since it's a bedroom TV, I never have natural light hit it, just my lamp, so I'm not totally sure how it would be in a living room. But I think it would be totally fine... Iirc my dad has a B3 in his living room and I didn't notice anything off about it when I visited him
Going in a windowless basement so darker should be fine. But sounds like the C5 might also be a bit better for gaming
That's where mine would be going so I think I should be good too then, was debating that or another C series, but why pay double if it's just as good. My bedroom is also super dark so it sounds like a perfect fit. Thanks

Should I use the AI picture/sound enhancements on my C series or will that actually just ruin things?
Breaking in this bad boy by finally watching the last of us. Wasn't like I planned on waiting for a TV like this I just never got around to it but I'm kinda glad I did cause the colors on this are stunning
Find a modern Dolby vision, IMAX enhanced Pixar movie on D+ like Elemental or Moana and you'll be blown away
for all the polarizing reviews it got (and my own personal love of the film aside), the Dolby Vision grading on The Last Jedi is absolutely spectacular
Me and my 6 year old were having a lightsaber duel inside and i like an idiot started twirling mine around and completely crushed the ceiling light cover, pieces went flying everywhere, inlcuding into my 1 year old 65 inch TCL screen. There's two little chips now in the screen. So frustrating. I assume it's not worth fixing and would just have to buy a whole knew tv.
Ngl if there is no damage to the panel under the glass and you see nothing wrong with the picture, you just happened across a miracle haha
the chips are visible on darker scenes, but are far enough to the side and up that you don’t notice at all if you’re looking at the center of the screen and it’s a lighter scene. One of those things where you can ignore it but when you notice it it’s gonna bug you lol
Still not a day that goes by where I regret getting an OLED TV in my bed room, even though though most of my content watching is silly shows like Futurama and 480p Dragon Ball re runs I just love being comfortable so having a nice TV in the room is great for those occasions where I do want to watch a really good looking movie in Dolby vision or play my Switch 2 in HDR. Previously had a 2009 Sony Bravia from Circuit City in here haha.
...also love that lowering the brightness on newer TVs actually lowers brightness like a phone would instead of kinda just messing with the colors. That's also a NICE bonus in a bedroom. That, and having a built in blue light filter
My 77" G2 started turning itself off after a couple hours of usage a few weeks back. Shortly after, it developed a line of dead pixels on the far left hand side of the screen. I reached out to LG, and at first they were pretty non-committal about helping. Thankfully, my state has an Implied Warranty law which basically says either the retailer or manufacturer has to make it right if you're within 4 years of purchase and the fault is not due to misuse. I bought the TV in June of 2022, so I was covered. The tried to set up a repair, but none of the service centers in my area are working on LG products anymore because apparently their warranty department is slow to pay. Not great! After pestering them for a week or so and getting the run around about "trying to find another service center", I finally got a call from their Presidential Liaison team with a 90% buyback offer. Basically, they subtracted 10% for "fair use" over the course of 2.75 years beyond the original warranty. I was more than pleased with the offer, and they didn't even want the G2 back - just the serial sticker FedEx'ed to them. Turned around about bought myself a 77" C5 on sale and pocketed the rest of the refund. Was a bit surprised to see the C5 is such a dramatic improvement over the G2, but, it sure is. Got extremely lucky with my panel, too. Probably the cleanest I've seen on an OLED. I did order a power board for the G2 to see if that was the issue, but, unfortunately, it wasn't. If I can find a T-con or main board for cheap, I may give those a go, but my research has led me to believe it's probably the panel.
The magic remote for the C5 sucks so I thought I could just buy an old one but apparently it consistently gives me "that remote isn't supported by this TV" errors even though it works perfectly fine sans the motion pointer I don't even need
I've barely touched my remote because I use a Logitech Harmony (if it ever dies, I'll cry) but I always feel bad when people have to factor in remotes to TV considerations. I never even give it a second thought but it's a huge quality of life thing if it you don't have an alternative.
