Yeah it took me a couple years and using payment plans to get my Sonos where I wanted it. The play five is amazing if you can only buy one Sonos product. That’s the one I’d recommend.
Just got told my bonus that I'll be getting a check for next week .... Thinking about getting a 48 inch LG B4 OLED in my bed room. I always have blackout shades shut in there and only watch at night so I'm not worried about it being less bright than my C2 in the living room. What are the chances I can fit it in the trunk of my Honda Civic and can set it up without help from someone else lol. Definitely wasn't doable with my 55 inch C2.
I once fit a 65" in the back of my Prius. I don't recommend it, but it did make it home okay! I think 48" would be pretty doable.
Bonus acquired, 48 inch LG B4 OLED ordered for the bedroom . Will be a nice upgrade from my 2007 40 inch Sony Bravia. Now to find a decent sound bar ... Hopefully shouldn't be too expensive because I don't really want a subwoofer in my bedroom to wake up the neighbors below me lol
I do not at all claim to be anything close to an expert in soundbars, and Bose is notoriously overpriced, but this seems like a solid deal for a well reviewed sub-less bar: https://www.walmart.com/ip/1695179506?sid=6c528270-7983-4f68-9a3e-f3cb0d16fa32 Also available on Woot and eBay for around $160 certified refurbished.
Haha thanks! Already pulled the trigger on a Vizio. I decided to get one with a mini subwoofer anyways. It'll sit in a little cubby of my end table that's raised off the floor so hopefully won't be bad for neighbors and the eq settings are adjustable https://a.co/d/3qKANMA Already have an older Vizio sound bar/subwoofer combo with an optical connection in the living room that I'm very happy with, and since this newer one has HDMI ARC and Dolby sound, it should be even better
Nice. Glad to hear the Vizios work for you. I have an M51 set from a few years back that I got for my bedroom TV but I had to stop using it because I could not defeat the audio delay on my OLED no matter what I did. Multiple different connections, both direct to my Apple TV and to the TV itself (HDMI, TOSlink.) Delay adjustments at both the soundbar and TV level. Could never get it to match. I found a few people with similar issues, too. So weird. My mom actually has the same set and I went as far as going to her house, disconnecting hers and bringing it to my place to try and see if it was just my unit. Same deal. I spent way too much damn time on that thing. A shame, cause it sounds pretty damn good for the price.
Oof I guess fingers crossed they haven't gotten worse over the years lol I think my current one is a 2017 model
Sound bar came in! Doesn't sound the best over aux, but the TV is ancient and Bluetooth sounds great. Just a waiting game to try it out over HDMI eARC when the new TV comes in. Have to wait till Friday unfortunately.
Think we talked about this in the thread before, but I have that Bravia in 32", silver, from 2008. Damn thing still works great and sounds better than any TV money can buy today because of those bottom speakers.
LG B4 successfully set up! Very excited Now that I have an OLED in my bedroom I'm going to have to train myself to stop falling asleep while watching TV hah
My Onn box in the bedroom didn't have Dolby vision since I just had an old 1080p TV before, so I just bought the Google TV Streamer. It's really nice. Better than the Onn 4K TV Pro box that has Dolby vision. And got a nice silicone sleeve for the remote that makes these slick Google remotes feel so much better. Love that the volume button is no longer on the side of Google remotes.
Yeah definitely a solid price for that size, but I did not have the greatest luck with the last LG LED TV I bought... the display crapped out after maybe 3-5 years.
True. Just sad that an old technology like LCD is no longer reliable. I just replaced a Sony Bravia from 2007 that was still working fine, and I have a 19 inch Vizio flat screen on my desk that I've had for 15 years that's also still totally fine lol
Yeah, LG more or less has all their eggs in the OLED basket. I happily recommend their OLEDs all day but can’t think of a single situation other than a deal like the one above where I’d recommend one of their LCDs over comparably priced competitors.
Some of the deals on the 4 models across the board right now are insane. It makes sense, of course, but it's still so strange seeing 77"s be available for <$2k.
Just got me this for when I travel for work.. stoked on it for 69 bucks. Should be good for the switch or as a second monitor for my MacBook.
That's pretty sweet! I'm traveling for work this summer and I'm realizing the thought of carting two laptops with me if I want to use my personal laptop in the hotel room sounds like a pain in the ass to fly with haha. Ever done that before?
I've almost bought this (or a couple of close equivalents) multiple times when it's been around this price, but I always talk myself out of it because I don't actually have a use for it, it just seems like a great value, haha.
Yeah I travel a lot for work, mostly driving. I have my personal MacBook Air M2 and my shitty work laptop. This is gonna make traveling and gaming or working so much nicer. Dual monitors with my MacBook is the main purpose and then some gaming. Will definitely start opting out of taking one or the other laptops.
