I would always opt for a dedicated receiver & speakers over any soundbar if the conditions allow it, especially given the price of the Sonos stuff, but I totally get the desire for the latter in an apartment setting. Also, obviously better for space.

Ugh, the 65 COULD work but I think it’ll just look a little too awkward. It wouldn’t get in the way of the bedroom door at all (I know it kind of looks like it in the photo but it doesn’t) but it just looks kind of goofy to me…whereas the 55 seems like it’d be perfect. Idk, you tell me!

(ignore the mess, I’m still very much settling in)

Even if it doesn’t, you don’t want to worry about cutting that angle too short and walking into the tv. Plus 55” would probably be plenty for that distance!

That's way more workable than I was expecting based on the picture! I’d definitely rule out the 48”.

The 55” certainly looks a little cleaner, but honestly? I bet you’d get used to the overhang on the 65” in no time.

I think you’ll be happy with the 55”, but I doubt you’d regret sizing up, either.

Guess what, you all…I just ordered the 65” because I realized I can just return it if it’s too large. I’ll know pretty quickly if that’s the case. I also figured this is not my forever home, and hopefully I will own the next place I move to and will have more options as far as placement/mounting goes.

My Capital One card was offering 5x miles on LG.com purchases, and I talked to an LG agent who gave me a promo code for 15% off in addition to the current sale. With tax, the TV was $1354.68, and LG.com has an in-store pickup option with Best Buy so I’m getting it today! (But it’ll just be on the floor until I order a TV stand, lol.)

Out of all the cheap TV streamers out there, I think this is my new favorite remote. Lots of buttons that are easy to feel around for, backlit, pressing a button on the back of the TV box has a very loud remote finder on this thing that tops my Shield TV remote. A little ugly, but functional.

Tbh I think the Shield TV is the *only* streamer with a better remote just because of the play/pause/ff/rw buttons

Ooh I’ve been looking into getting a ShIeld TV Pro - heard nothing but rave reviews about it and the AI upscaling is legitimately great. Glad to hear the remote is accessible to use as well.

Question for the parents in here - what audio setup do you guys have? I currently have a 3.1 channel set up with the speakers all in the front of the room, but we have to keep the volume low past 6pm because of our infant. I’m thinking of upgrading to a 5.1 system so the satellites can add some “fullness” while keeping the volume low. The system sounds amazing but I can’t crank it up anymore haha. Anyone else running into this lol

I am currently rocking Sonos speakers throughout my house with a 5.1 Sonos surround sound system in my living room.

I really love that fact I can change speakers and play individual things on them or group them. They all sound very good and it works pretty flawlessly with my LG.

My gf's daughter sleeps well with no issues because of the audio. They also have night mode settings and low volume settings and such.

It's definitely comfortable and the amount of buttons are nice, but in terms of accessibility, I will say it's a bit annoying to feel around for buttons without looking because they are all the same size and shape. And for some reason, the giant Netflix button on it is sooo sensitive lol if you look around on reddit, it's a very common complaint and some people have even 3D printed shells that block the netflix button completely XD

chiming in here in need of some advice. i currently have a Samsung 55" AU8000 Crystal UHD, which i purchased in August 2022. in the past 6 months or so, i've had occasional issues with the backlight being slightly dimmer on the left side compared to the right side. since then it's cycled between looking a lot less noticeable, disappearing completely, and reappearing - with each stage lasting a few days to a week. annoying for sure, but i knew it would probably be more expensive to replace all of the backlights than to replace the TV (which i can't do at this point in time). i figured my best bet was to power cycle it every few days and leave it off as much as possible in hopes that it would go away.

fast forward to about a week and a half ago and the backlight situation is suddenly perfect - no more issues. then Wednesday hits and now the right side is encountering the same issue while the left side looks perfect. it seemed to disappear for a couple days but dimmed a bit yesterday and has marginally improved over the weekend. part of me wants to think that the problem will work itself out like it always does, but now that it's happening on the other side, i'm not sure if that's the case.

i'm honestly not sure what's causing this - if it's a bad backlight, a power supply issue, something with the ribbon cables, etc. all i know is that i can't justify purchasing a new TV right now. if there are cheaper repair solutions (depending on what the issue is), i might be able to swing that. i wanted to ask if anyone else has dealt with a similar problem and what steps they've taken to remedy it. am i shit out of luck, or is there something i can do to alleviate the issue without having to take the TV apart?

Sounds like a back light problem. My old 75” Vizio had this problem and the upper right quadrant went dark dark, super dim. Got it “fixed” at a shop and it happened again. It sounds like it would need to be worked out.

ugh, i feared it might be that. part of me is hoping it just resolves itself and doesn't get much worse for a while. i'm moving in August and can't afford a new TV until we get settled, but it also feels wasteful to buy a whole new TV when the only problem with this one is supposedly the backlight, but that it'll also cost about the same to fix. fucking planned obsolescence, man

Yeah that sucks. I mean if you can get it fixed cheap at least try that once. I paid like 200 bucks at a local shop. It was “fixed” for a couple months after I did it. Then it eventually crapped out. I did research and it was known to happen to my version or whatever. It’s why I went LG for the individual pixels. Cause it sucks when this lcd’s dim out. Weird cause I have two other Vizios that are in perfect condition 10 and 15 years later.

Finally did the Trueplay feature for all my speakers after 5 years. Love it. I’ll always recommend Sonos just like LG products.

Loving my Era 100s + Arc Ultra setup although I already wish I had the money to upgrade the 100s to 300s so I could use the 100s for music in my kitchen and bathroom lol. I forgot that living alone would mean I can have music playing constantly.

Hue released a sync app for LG TVs a few days ago so I threw my two Play bars on the back of my C4 and it's pretty cool although I'll probably switch to a light strip at some point.

Love hearing about everyone’s set ups! I just got my bonus, but it wasn’t enough for a new G3/4 (it would be in a really bright room), so I’m upgrading my speaker system. Right now I have a Sony STR-DE685 (Savers), hand me down A&R Towers + Center. I’m trying to get a used Denon AVR-740E from marketplace, and got 2 SVS Sound Prime Satellites, that I’m excited to set up as my rears. Think that’ll give a nice punch up to the system.
