Apparently folks got maced in the rapids section during the show last night during the encore. (I was on the lawn lowkey cursing out all the tall folks but still had an enjoyable time.)
I could tell something happened during Birds but I couldn't tell what exactly was going on. One of the security guys was on stage at the end of the song and looked like he was kind of arguing with the band and pointing down to some fans.
someone on Reddit got hold of the Blu-ray of the film and shared some technical specs. apparently the audio track is a 7.1 channel lossless track (LPCM multi 48k), which is an improvement over both the streaming and theatrical releases. audio is apparently SUPER crisp, and the video stream comes in at about 30 Mbps (audio around 9 Mbps). bonus features include 3 trailers, a short video with footage from the theatrical showings, and 28 minutes of their show at Wyman Park Dell (all of these videos are on their YouTube channel, btw). seems like a worthwhile investment, so i'm hoping they put it on their webstore soon!
Strongly considered grabbing it at the show but…I can’t help but feel like the film is a 75% finished product and they ran out of time/budget. Most of it feels fully realized, but slowdive being a windows media player background, and a couple other tracks just seeming like random footage (dreaming) that doesn’t jive with the song much, is preventing it from being like a must-own for me.
I have a ticket face value for the Des Moines show this Sunday if anyone is interested. Tried bringing it up on Reddit but immediately got banned from the chat for mentioning it. Crazy how crazy they are over there.
Saturday’s show at the Armory was absolutely incredible. I’ve been lucky enough to see a bunch of legendary acts there as of late, but this was my favorite experience yet. My favorite pic I snapped from the night.
IMO it’s too early to say if the riffs are bankrupt in Turnstile the way the internet is accusing them of. Never Enough is a deeper and more expansive take on what started during glow on. Whatever comes next will be more indicative of where they are at as a band. I hope dude is doing well I dont really know the full details of what went down. Becoming mega famous is a hard thing to cope with and I hope he’s getting things sorted.
Definitely more traditional hardcore than current day Turnstile. I dig it. Brady definitely brought the riffs for Turnstile and you can see the stylistic change coincide with his departure for better or worse. I'm not gonna fully judge until we get some recorded output, but there's a lot of promise there.
Someone needs to grab one of those on clearance for me. Happily Venmo because Nashville ain’t got a clearance vinyl section haha
the clearance vinyl is just in a general clearance section, ive seen books, dvds, cds, toys, coloring books, literally anything can be back there, find that and you might find some record!
