I am curious where they could go from here.. headline the second stage or sub headline the main stage at download festival or sub headline reading/Leeds festival or do their own outdoor show at Gunnersbury Park with a stacked supporting line up!
The miserable purists who are melting down in hardcore pages comments about their rise would seethe at this but an underrated part of their appeal is their top notch aesthetic and styling. Was just thinking about this as I realized, now that Meg is fully integrated, seeing her outfits at their shows, with cowboy boots and the likes coupled with badass looking guitars, pushed me to finally dress like I always wanted to lol. All that to say I love when bands do pay attention to their image and take advantage of it. There’s so much you can do with it and it can be fun. Some may say it does not matter in that scene and I get that, but when in a bill you get five bands in a row that look identical (and, again, there isn’t anything wrong with that) and the sixth one is Turnstile, my eyes are going to stay focused on the latter.
I don’t like the carpet company stuff but I like their regular merch. Just wish they’d used comfort colors or anything besides gildain.
All of the new merch is white labeled, doesn’t seem to be Gildan. My hoodie from Tied Down fits bad - I bought a large and it fits like a slim fit medium. I’d be inclined to buy some of the Carpet stuff for the quality but I really don’t like much of it. I have my two Glow On Carpet Co shirts and those are super nice.
I bought a never enough shirt and it just has a turnstile label. It feels like gildan but I’m not sure.
if the only option you offer for printed merch is Gildan, you don't deserve to sell merch. cost is important, sure, but so is comfort, and i've never had a comfortable Gildan shirt in any capacity - merch or otherwise. charge more for a better quality shirt and i'll happily spend extra for it.
during the glow on era, I remember I was stoked to buy a shirt and support them and then I saw it was gildan and I gave it away to the homie cause it just didn’t fit right for me.
